Just ran the weekly errands with the lady. Stopped at a few stores to grab supplies for the household. Same wal mart I stopped at last week that I was able to score the STH and many others at, provided again today. Found this skyline Lego set on sale as well and couldn’t pass up. Been digging some of the matchbox more and more lately. Also was able to complete my F&F set with the 3 left I needed. Hope y’all’s Tuesday goes smoothly

Im off today and tomorrow and its way to hot outside to work in the yard so I hit the stores looking for Hot Wheels. Target 0 Meijers 0 Walmart 0 Family Dollar 0 Hobby Lobby 0. 0 and 5. Ill hit more stores tomorrow. The problem here is nothing ever makes it to the racks unless it is stuff nobody wants. Either the employees pick through the boxes before they ever make it to the floor or they have arrangements with the vultures and sit on them in back. This is mid week and stores are restocked. I see what gets posted on Tacoma World and you never see it here. At least I know what to look for.

Black 74 Maverick 1/24 scale die cast. All the work I did on this one was ruined when a tube of glue misfired and ate into the paint. I sanded it off but knew I could never replicate the paint as smooth as it is so I left it in primer and liked it better this way. Its a keeper.
Another Hot Wheels P1800 Volvo Gasser done up in semi gloss burnt orange. Bought 8 of these to paint in different colors and swap wheels on.

Not a Hot Wheel but, a bomb Father's Day gift from my son. I've had zero luck lately with HWs and other scale items. Eye balling a Tamiya Top Force Buggy pretty hard but, trying to save up for big tires and wheels for the Taco. Sheesh...adulting is annoying. It was great to chill and build. Its been too long.

Suppose to get some good rain here in south Texas tomorrow. With having the day off as well, what a better way to spend a rainy day then chillin, building a rad Lego. Living my childhood in my 30s! I’ll take it.

I think you can get a custom sticker pack for that that includes the Marlboro stickers since Lego are lame and don’t include those for the obvious reasons

These just came in from Germany this week. I liberated one of the noses without drama (although it didn't come off as clean as I'd like) and then the second resulted in an X-acto knife straight through my fingernail.

On the cars with the removable noses there are a pair of pegs and a magnet to hold the nose in place. I was able to effectively friction fit the nose in place and it would be fine for display, if I so chose. Now I just need to learn how to weather. I figure I've got one to practice on and one to get right. I might even try using my wife's makeup to dust it as a test run.

I listed the first bare body on eBay for stupid cheap, so we will see where we end up and then I'll list the second. I love AA Spares, they've been great to me getting me spare parts. I'm pretty sure from the pair of Interceptors they had I bought all the dog food, the dog, the jerry can and now both noses. I should have bought the extra machetes and blue police light while I was at it.

Its funny you mention that because I had to explain, to my son, that cigarette manufacturers were MAJOR sponsors in racing since day one. He tripped on it a bit after being raised in our currently woke society. It definitely needs the Marlboro livery.

I'd add Camel to that list. The world hasn't been the same since Camel Trophy ended. And I hate smoking!

ah yes, yeah im still a huge fan of the Camel Trophy series, even when it changed to the G4 challenge. I always wanted to do a Camel Trophy livery on my Land Rover i joke often about doing a Rothmans livery on my Gambler 500 hyundai. since i think they still do one for the Dakar rally series

Good Hump day everyone. I don’t have any new HW’s as of today but I did enjoy putting this together. Suppose to be a wet one down here in south Texas today. Enjoying the temp drop, a nice breeze and some good jams. Took me just under 3 hrs, in-between knocking out household obligations as well. Super rad little build. Definitely going to be getting another set here soon.

Part 2 of my Tuesday and Wednesday being off work and hitting as many stores as I can to see what I can take home with diecasts.
Yesterday I was 0 and 5 and found zilch.
Today I am 0 and 11. Every store in my area has been picked clean. 16 stores and nothing.
While down by I76 I stopped at the I76 Auctions which is huge and managed to find two model kits I have been looking for for some time now.
Picked up a 50-54 Henry J Gasser Monogram. Also found a 65 F100 short bed made by Moebus which I haven't seen in several years.
I can not believe how stuff you guys see every day simply does not exist in NE Ohio.
Was looking primarily for the 2 new Volvo P1800 Gassers in shades of blue /aqua and one being a Treasure Hunt. There is also a new color in the Collector 55 Chevy Gassers (Black Cherry?)

Sounds like you’ve put in the effort for sure… sorry to hear it was a bust… I am definitely thankful to find what I have been lately. Here in South Texas though, we’ve got quite a few large areas to hunt at. Not always a hit but sometimes it’s a major score. For the real limited stuff I’ll either reach out to the Diecast community down here or eBay. Luckily our community is pretty nice about letting others know when a restock hit. Just collectors who are collecting for themselves mostly. We do get hit with the mass buyers though as well. I’ve been getting lucky during the week and in the middle of the day lately. Like most have said here though, timing and luck play a big part. Not to rub it in, but you are correct on the gasser and p1800s

Exactly. The Camel Trophy...etc. And Le Mans and all the Touring Car Series were also nothing but, sex, drugs, and rock and roll as well. haha

I wouldn’t take this as gospel, but I have noticed, at least here in Michigan, that the deeper we get into the month, the dryer the pegs get. Wal mart, target, and the grocery store Meijer seem to restock newer items at or just after the first of the month. It’s hit at miss..
