Well that sucks, hopefully one of the non-runners can be made to run again. I like seeing classic airshows

Same...still feels like yesterday when at that TX air show last year a mid-air collision destroyed a B-17 and P-63 and killed both crews. Sad stuff.

I'm mechanical according to the piece of paper. But by trade I'm in manufacturing and I build electronics. It makes zero sense.
Oh I just don't care enough is the problem.
Kelly Johnson's book is a great read and talks about the Electra quite a bit. Sad it went down, I'll have to look that up on Blancolirio's channel, I'm sure he has a video up on it already.

Homeboy never posts his stuff so I gotta put him on blast here

@FLBAdrian made me a personal cutting board (he wanted to make a larger one but I told him I have one) so he made me this as a thanks

    20240618_140006.jpg

I wanted a personal one as I often cut/slice stuff just for my wife and I or just the kiddo; I might actually use this one even though I think it's too nice

I want to save some cash this next go around and plan to go used for some coilovers for the GX

What should I expect to pay for some low mileage 2.5 Kings or Fox?

Staying away from Icon due to the top mounts breaking.

Not sure how feasible it is to replace the lower bushing as that's the only difference from a 2nd/3rd Gen Taco to a GX470.

Low mileage... like never been rebuilt and below 50k? I dunno $700-$850 be about what I'd expect, less for more mileage. Depending on what you find you can send em here and I'll rebuild em for you. Might be able to pick up a set in the $550-600 range if they're un rebuilt and around 80k

@Kwikvette Doubt the valving is the same between models even if the mounting is, like 4runner is probably the same but 2nd/3rd gen taco and FJC likely aren't

Howard Hughes and the golden age of flight.

In July 1933, Wiley Post returned to New York’s Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, New York, seven days, 18 hours, 49 minutes after leaving to set an around the world record. Five years later, on July 14th, 1938, Howard Hughes would beat this time by three days 23 hours 33 minutes.

    Yeah good point

Just thought I'd look into Taco coilovers cause they're so commonly found, and at $700 I'd purchase a set

But yeah valving might be way off

I mean, I can make em whatever you want so if you find a smoking deal on 2nd/3rd gen taco coilovers we can figure it out. I'm just saying out of the box they won't be the same after a rebuild, still might be valved too heavy or soft or weirdly digressive. Easy enough to change that though, and they're common enough that we can probably find a good baseline valving for your weight/model/and spring weight. That said most folks on here have heavy rigs and you've got a stock GX so you'd probably end up buying new light springs no matter what too
