I not only have 2 keys for each bike I own, I carry the spare with me when I travel in an accessible yet secure place.

One of the first long distance rallies I took part in there was a bonus location that required "a short walk" and involved crossing a small bridge over a stream. One of the riders in the event visited that location and while walking back to his bike as he crossed that bridge he went into his pants pocket for something and without realizing it somehow snagged his key chain and pulled it out of his pocket and it fell through the open grate of the bridge into the stream below. It was also almost dark and he had no way to find or retrieve it. Phone calls were made and his wife had to bring him his spare costing him hours of sitting in the middle of nowhere until she arrived.

    Shit happens, have spare keys!

No dampner- Ram mag mount. I’ve used it for a long time and never had issues but it’s always been short rides. Guess the extended time on the road is what finally did it.

Bikes are like women. Cheap and easy will get the job done, but you don't want to be seen going that route.

Same thing happened to me with my last phone. Then with my newer replacement I put it on the same mount to do some tuning on the monkey and same thing happened. That’s when I knew it was the mount that did it.

It honestly looks like that ring is just a beauty ring, as long as the main body of the cap is tight and the actual flip up lid is solid and seals on the tank you are fine.

oh lord i absolutely like menionted below have spares and contingency plans (extra spares) when traveling for sure.

Yup, I too am paranoid with stuff like that and always keep extra spares.

Yeah, it’s the vibrations. We’ve talked about it before but I’ve never had an issue with it till now. Again- pretty sure the quick putts around town are fine, but those 2.5 hour trips are what did me in. Guess that’s why I get for saying “not me”.

Pretty sure that's the case. I'm gonna ride it anyway. Worst case I catch fire and look like Ghost Rider, and that'd be pretty badass. :bikewheelie2:

So I got a weird sound from the front brake this morning after using them. It was only present for just a second. It wasn't like a true metal on metal....but since being at 8K miles.....I ordered new pads front/rear

I'm assuming it's my brakes. I cut the engine off once I hit the parking lot....and still was able to reproduce the sound. It only happens after using the front brake, rear is fine.

could be worn i mean how many miles you got on that bike now? you do ride it a lot so its a good possibility that its just time for new ones.
