Mine is mounted on the passenger side, other side of the shifter on the upright floorboard so the screen faces you.

I found a little carnage last night. I took my truck in to get the brakes looked at, because the parking brake needed adjustment and I figured I was due for front brakes. The called me to come in and look at the truck. The rear drums and shoes were completely worn and caked in sand and mud that looked like cement. They said they thought the rear calipers might be shot as well. I ended up just needing the new brakes on all 4 corners and new drums as well.

Good arguement for not wasting time spraying off all the mud & shit from undercarriage after a run....

& ironically you need/needed a carrier bearing.... what was to outcome on that JD ?? ;)

But the carrier bearing is my fault. Brakes are not dependent on lift. I didn't replace it yet. I made my own 1/4" drop for it and so far no noises. I just hope it doesn't spontaneously combust. I still need to take a video or that ring for ya.

I just broke 30k miles on the truck. My wife wanted to drive it in dirty to work to show her coworkers the fun we had. She complained that when driving home she had to stand on the brake pedal and it still didnt want to stop, so I figured something was up. Its also crazy how much better the truck drives once you wash all the dried mud off of the wheel wells! Another thing too, I had been trying to pin dow the source of a vibration the truck was having for the past 3 weeks. It sounded like a loose body panel or something when I would hit pot holes and rough patches of road. Now after this trip i haven't heard that sound since!

You may have over heated the pads and glazed them should probably get them looked at. What ever was making the noise has some caked up mud in there stopping the knock..:D

My thoughts exactly, James. Im gonna detail the truck this weekend after the rain has passed, so I'll find out if the noise comes back.
