Just for reference I paid $750 for the set on my 2nd gen. I agree with Zane, $700 to $800 is a good price point. New Valve stacks are cheap and simple to replace when doing a rebuild. Find a set and we could rebuild them in an hour or two. (As long as they are in better shape than @JKO1998 's)

    @Kwikvette

Not sure what spring you'd need, but if it's 3.0x13" 600lbs, Accutune sometimes has take-offs for dirt cheap.

So, I had completely dismissed (forgot really) the fact that the coilovers I'd be replacing is a 4Runner set

I'm in no rush, would just like something I can rebuild long term

So it isn't the valving part really (as that can be redone like Zane and James said) but just making sure the right coil is already on there otherwise I could swap them

Need to see what coils the GX/4R use as they're meant for the heavier front end versus a Tacoma

My current coilovers are Bilstein 6112's

They're probably on mark @750ish, you probably have a lot more options than I do here. Just watch Facebook and other marketplaces, I'm sure they'll pop up, especially as the "season" ends.

And yeah @Tour991 you can show me how to rebuild them for sure, but the first rebuild I'd just drive them up to Zane just to finally visit his ass up north

Wonder if they'd fit a Tacoma though

They will; apparently the issue sometimes comes from the Tacoma lower control arm mounts...certain year coilovers are too wide so the mount needs to be grinded down or something

    Rear lower mount needs replacing

    Er...the bushing that is

I mis-spoke when I said the bottom front mounts need to be changed for Tacoma to a GX/4R, it's actually the rear shock lower mount

Just make sure you have the right spring rate. If you go to heavy it's going to drive like a brick.

No no, Tacoma coils are too light so I just need to see what the spring rate is on a 4R/GX

Just side tracking with someone about CAD work

Did another meeting this morning, quick cash :D

It's less Tacoma and more mod
It's a good Mount but I'm not sure I'd run it without also having poly engine mounts

Go pick them up, and mail me the fronts

600lb up front works for me (as long as I keep it stock, which I will completely)

650lb is what people normally run when they want a lift and everything on the GX using Tacoma shocks; I'm wanting to lower it from where I'm at

The extra cash is a great way to pay for all the truck stuff.

Here is a set in Sac. The price is higher but there's a lot of extra stuff.
