    My name is Mark,
I am going on 65 years young. I have been working in the Automatic transmission industry since 1977. I just purchased a 2016 Tacoma limited. I am hoping to learn from the experienced members on this forum.

    Thank you, Mark

Thanks, The AC60F transmission is in desperate need of "Flex" torque converter clutch control revsions. The flex TCC stategy is toyotas methed of partially applying the converter clutch
at lower speeds while in 2nd gear or higher. It produces a surging effect at light throttle around town driving and is quit annoying.

Awesome. Thanks for your thoughts. I have noticed this a bit too. Used to it now. The shift logic is a little annoying as well. Other than that, generally a bullet proof transmission from what I've seen.

Welcome to TacomaWorld! You'll like it here. Here is what I can contribute on/re: the A750 that is in my 2014: I like it. It shifts nicely with little to no drama and the way I usually drive, it's intelligence usually has it set to "Grand-Pa mode": quick gentle up-shifts and settles in for the drive......

However, if you suddenly switch to full-on pedal Speed Racer mode for some reason or because you misjudged the speed of the semi coming along up the right lane (my fault) as you try to merge/match-speed on the on-ramp, the transmission gets a little confused, and then aggravated, then nasty about what you are asking, and slams the down-shift to let you know it's very unhappy.

Both the transmission and the 4.0 have always met the demand requested. The engine happy to deliver, the A750 initially/begrudgingly/not so much. I can live with that.

Maybe that's the price you pay for an old-school bullet-proof Aisin transmission.
