If this is for a JDf kit, the shorties won’t work as they will hit tie rods. JDf recommends the tall ones such as is on the OEM Taco shocks.

Sorry to detract from the DH MTB talk…

They pop up on very rare occaision by us if you keep an eye out, pedal power had a good vet discount I thought...

But also I sent you that FB link for a Giant Reign 2 local that is asking a reasonable amount and will be great for our local trails and most of windrock.

Got a recommendation from the trek line?
    Actually
I’d take top 3 recommendations if you’ve got them
The local shop recommended a 3k trek bike that I didn’t hate
But I SEE trek get a lot of hate

Once I grab a new bike
I’ll have you show me the area
My local is fun but tame (lots of pedaling and sharp turns)

I want the raised - it looks to be the middle of the three options - flat, raised, and then... extended raised? Idk exactly what to call it, but you can see it in my link.

I'm not sure if this applies worldwide but Norco have a 30% off online and at dealers. Have a few buddies riding the Sight and they seem to love them.

We are at the point with MTB, that any bike you buy in the $2k+ price point from the last 3-4 years will be quite good. It's more about just getting outside and having fun on a bike that won't break the first time you hit a jump than how "good" the bike is.

Look for a bigger brand. The boutique brands will be more expensive for really nothing extra.
Specialized or trek as @Evenflow mentioned would be solid options. A specialized stumpjumper or a trek fuel would be perfect for you.

Anyone know what glass this is? Guy says 6 inch mcneil, looks to be trimmed but I'm not seeing a 6 inch fender on their site.

It looks like the 4 inchers. The 6 inch bulge don't look like they have that flare on top
