The dirt king truck has spindles that push out the wheels. The red truck might have lower backspacing than you, but camera angle also has a lot to do with it.

I knew nicks truck had big spindles, red truck looks like 12.5 tires. I'm only a 35x11.5

1700 miles down on the swingset as of today. Probably about 800 of that is in the dirt. I’ll be pulling it in 3-500 miles to inspect bushing wear etc. But I do not expect to find issues.

Working on the final cross member design to make install a bit easier than mine. But it’s still a beast of a job regardless.

Also began design on the 2wd crossmember version. This will house a Power Steering Solutions TT rack! The 2wd version will by far be the best bang for the buck and simplify install tremendously.

Swingset will be available from 1 turn lock to lock, all the way to 2.5 turns lock to lock depending on what ratio box is used.

Paired with a JD +4 absolutely zero bump steer is achievable depending on certain things. How far forward etc.

Hoping early fall of this year we will have a big release!

I haven't driven a rig with a steering setup like that, but I would think that 1 turn lock to lock be pretty twitchy on road. Is that how yours setup? or the 2.5 turn?

I built this box to require decently heavy input. So while it may seem that way, it’s not. Truck has amazing street manners and has road tripped over an hour each way flawlessly.

It did take me a few hundred miles to feel comfortable. But it was mostly a mind over matter thing. Focus on steering and you’re all over. Focus on driving down the road and it’s no different than a normal vehicle.

Obviously, one needs to realize what 1 turn lock to lock is capable of at speed. But truthfully, I’m more confident in the truck now than ever before.

I had a loaner Taco from JD a couple years ago that had the quick steer kit on it and honestly from the first drive home with it I really liked it. I drove a very twisty back road and had zero prob adjusting to it instantly. It's really cool to not have to change your hand position so often IMO

It’s definitely a nice thing, especially on tight stuff like I have.

One of the coolest parts of this swingset is there is virtually zero feedback in the wheel no matter what you’re driving in. It’s nothing more than a control. No more hands getting fatigued from being rattled around etc.

No joke, with the ram I can hit a nice whoop section at decent speed and just let go of the wheel.

Return to center also still functions for the most part. It does need a tiny bit of assistance to go full center. But part of me is attributing that to still having somewhat tight uniballs and heims.

Now that it’s mostly dialed back in after the spring change that’s the plan for the weekend if it stops raining. Need to get video to get shocks a little better anyways

I took @BEAR_KNIFE_FIGHT through a small section by the shop a few weeks ago when he was here. It was working halfway decent then.

Pretty crazy how many changes I’ve had to make to get this rear feeling good. Rear shocks have 10 total shims on the compression side now. Vs the 6 it had before changing geometry

Had them pre cage. 37’s are a no go unless you either want to limit travel or cut the inners.

Assuming you were pushed full forward? Not going to lie, I think I lost clearance going to them from my tubbed factory inners. Just too squared up.
