Got my new AuxBeam Pros installed this evening. They look great and are very bright. I’m stoked to test them at night.

The install went great, but I am leaving the push button switch wiring to the pros. Right now the lights are switched by their “stock” switch that came with the kit, but I’m going to have my shop replace my current push button reverse light switch with the new double push button switch I ordered. I studied mech engineering in college but electricity / wiring still intimidate me. I really need to study some 12V wiring tutorials to bring that into my skill set too.

Here’s some pics from the garage.

And here is my best effort at keeping the wiring clean in the engine bay. The wires are quite long, so I had to do some looping & zip-tying to keep it decently cleaned up.

I have stock non JBL HU with ds18 tweeters (60$), new rear door speakers (50$), kicker key 200.4 (250$)
The key gets the rears up to where my kids in the back can hear without me blowing my ears out in the front. But I still can't tell the are on due to low placement and sound absorption from seats carpets and sometimes legs. The tweeters were a significant upgrade. Overall increase in sound quality and volume but nothing fancy. Think slight upgrade on factory, not sounding like an aftermarket sound system. Kicker fronts and a powered sub are next.

I installed the old style TRD Pro headlamp assemblies on my 22' Trail Edition today. I previously had AnzoUSA headlamp projectors on my truck but they stopped working properly and began to haze pretty bad. I personally like the way these headlamps look over the 2020+ LED's. The black housing looks so much better than the stock chrome headlamps.

I just wish the LED DRLs worked because I forgot the SR5s aren't wired to run DRLs, as the turn signals are the DRLs lol.

My gen 3's "brother from another mother" Hilux parked next to me today. Stick/Turbo Diesel. Very different from our Tacomas. Nice truck.

Just my opinion, I installed the OEM plus system in my truck, consisted of sub woofer and amp. I had upgraded my speakers earlier with DS18 tweeters, kickers in the doors. But found out the sound was just not there, so decided to have a 5 ch amp installed and swapped out the front kicker speakers with Focals. They came with horn tweeters so the DS18s came out. So everything is new except I kept the original head unit. I am very pleased with the sound. Again, it works for me. Cheers

are you Canada based? I would buy a diesel Hilux today if we could get them in the US. Last I checked still a no go.

I’m fairly sure 15 years and 25 years aren’t the same. It only seems like a long time because you want a brand new import but Canadians were importing R34’s 10 years ago when the prices were completely different. 10 years is a huge advantage.

For Europe: you don’t import it-you move it as your household good. Can’t sell it for a year or so, but tax free and it is not imported (for commercial use). Has to be in your possession for 6months prior to move. Guess similar rules apply for CAN and the US also. Find someone you works that with you.
