there is ALOT more between a pro and an off-road then shocks and an appearance package. Like, a lot.

I think the 4th gen pro is the first pro actually worth the price difference. I don't like the gimmicky seats, but the pro at least has bigger diffs than the other non-TH models right? Someone who has shopped a Pro/TH list the differences to put this baby to bed please.

I am a 50k or so shopper, max, so a Pro is never going to happen lol. I haven't bothered to learn about the high end stuff since I am not buying one, ever.

There's dudes on the Ranger forums saying a XLT is the same as a Raptor with just a different engine, apparently this guy has cousins and brothers buying other brands.

$7,500 or over $10K depending on the possible adjusted market price that some will pay.
As far as making it look like you're talking to yourself, that takes talent :D

3g pro was nothing more than fancy shocks and some appearance package stuff for most of the run. Later year versions got fancy UCA's and an embossed bed, but nothing truly special.

4th gen is very clearly separated itself from the pack IMO. I'd absolutely go Pro/TH if I was thinking about modding from the get go on a lesser model.

But, what does it matter. Getting tiresome. They weren't going to buy it anyway. Just doing a lame job of trolling. Just cringe.

Ok. The Pro sucks and everybody who buys it is a moron. Move on. People will be just happy with theirs and won't care what TW randos say.

Pro doesn’t suck. It’s very good and I’d love to throw one in my garage. If the MSRP were $75k, we’d still have people here rabidly lecturing the rest of us how it’s worth it. And at $80k, $85k, and so on. I buy expensive Tacomas on a regular basis, so I get that.

Not so long ago, people were butt-hurt when we dared to suggest that a $48k SR5 was a bad idea and now dealers can’t even discount them off their lots. Well, the free market is your scoreboard. Proves that it’s not unreasonable (or trolling) to push back on getting over-charged.

RRaptor is the same price as an OR Max and if that was my max budget I might consider one. On the other hand, there's a 9K difference between the Pro and RR but with 17 vs 23 mpg you'd save half of that in fuel costs (in just six years). The RR doesn't have vented seats - which I want. If they were even an option on the RR, that would further close the price gap. But more importantly, even with the recent Tundra issues I still feel more comfortable buying a Toyota product. And I think the Pro looks better. And I actually want the Iso seats. Everyone else is free to spend their money however they want.

Who looks at a Raptor or Pro and thinks about gas mileage?

Well, we're very concerned about the price. You either pay now or later. When you buy a house you have to add in the HOA fees to determine your true cost of ownership. Unless you have real F-U money.

Sat in one today since I managed needed to go in for a service at the stealership. Hybrid 4x4 or something wouldn't be too bad, but I think I'm not getting anything until they get a PIH in either the taco or tundra. Feels nice and cozy and nothing too different than the 3rd gen, tbh.

plug in hybrid. I'd like a decent (50ish) miles unloaded in EV mode, then ICE when you're towing or on extended trips. I think the ramcharger went a little overboard with 100 miles of range, plus, lol dodge and all that, but daily on cheap stuff and no issues with range and refuel when you're towing or in the boonies would be nice.

But, hey, my other ride right now is a Rav4 Prime, so...

It's not going to happen with either the Tacoma or the Tundra. They went with a hybrid system to increase the torque.

I know, at least for this generation. But again, I'm not really up for replacing my 3rd gen until there's something significantly better, and while the 4th gen is fine and tacolike, doesn't offer anything compelling to me.

The direct comp would be something like the ramcharger. Not that I'd ever get a dodge, buuuuut... the general idea is pretty nice.

Going to be interesting to see how popular the Ranger PHEV becomes.

Pro/TH vs. any other Tacoma, dumb conversation for the most part.

Pro/TH Vs. Ranger Raptor/ZR2/Bison, valid conversation IMO.
