I recently contacted Toyota for an update on my case with them regarding my 2014 white tacoma sport 4x4. Here's their reply;

 

Did you include photos when you opened the case?

 

Neg. But wasn't that bad at the time. Now starting to become a problem around windows and doors. Substantial enough presently to send photos, which providing cooperative weather tomorrow, can be done.

 

Give them the vin and your information and ask for an email to send photos of the peeling to. Ask for a case number so you can follow up if they ever add the 2nd gen model years to the program.

 

I opened a case with Toyota today. I also faxed photos.

Have a Super white, 2013, DC that started peeling around the windows. Sucks that Toyota is taking care of some models but not others when they know there’s an issue. Will be contacting Toyota and the dealer, for what its worth.

14 tacoma super white access cab. Got a quote to repaint a a door with peeling paint today.. the paint shop told me the whole truck is probably going to need it since most of it will start peeling. Will call corporate tomorrow.

 

Looks exactly like my 06! Minus the minor rust and leaves in the engine bay. My hood has at least 5-10 nickel sized paint flakes. I'll give it a try, nothing to lose other than more paint!

called in and opened a case today at 888-270-9371 for my 14 tacoma super white access cab. they said they have nothing for me, but are going to check further and call me back..

 

found my inner front fenders are peeling.

 

Took my Tacoma into Longo Toyota on Monday for the required inspection before they would take it in for the painting. They are the largest Toyota dealer in the country and have a huge service dept. and collision/paint center. They have taken in a lot of these Tacomas as well as the prior Corollas, Camrys and other models too. I was very disappointed to learn that the current Toyota Super White remedial program only covers the front fenders and rear doors which are removed for re-painting. My Tacoma also has paint peeled on the front edge of the hood and at the bottom of the A pillars right at the hood-fender crease that they said will not be covered. I asked for an estimate for those areas to be painted too and it came out to $1300!!! They recommend filing a complaint with Toyota corporate which I will do but I am not happy with the situation. They admit there's a problem with the white paint but seem to want to avoid covering all of the affected areas. Seems pretty short sighted to me since it will generate ill will with lots of customers for a known problem. Has anyone else gotten Toyota to cover other areas than the fenders and rear doors?

 

Are they fixing it on the 2nd Gen yet? My 2015 has the exact same thing on the rear door and inside the door jams.

 

Mine did as well. Really lame that Toyota is not taking care of this.
