I don't know if they are weird/obscure. I've always had a 1/4" ratchet, extensions, bits and sockets. They come in handy for a lot of small jobs and some not so small. I will say that I've never had a 1/4" flex head ratchet, so I might have to see if I can find one of those.

BTW, sorry for the multiple posts. I've become too lazy to use multi quote, but I'll do better. ;)

I've painted the whole inside of my house, some 2-3 times. Yucky. I can paint the middle quick but I haven't the patience for the edging.

Though I did actually do a decent job on painting some small bike parts.

The people who bought my parents' house in 1998 kept dicking around about the closing..one reason I think was a hairdresser appt. My dad just told them he can't keep moving his other closing and if it comes down to it he'll probably get more money to relist the house anyway..haha

I have a good amount of those sizes, but that's in part I'm guessing due to being a bike person all my life.

    They're out there.
It took us a good 3 months to be able to move into the new place.
Seems everything was done half-azzed and had to be fixed.
    More to go.
But after looking for two years and losing bidding wars by 1000 dollars, got tired of looking and pulled the trigger.

On a much happier note, the bidding war worked in my favor for once. my old house closes tomorrow. :fingerscrossed:
Signed all the paperwork on my end today and the buyer does their thing tomorrow.
Ain't gonna be at ease till all the paperwork is done.

Brake caliper spreader. It's like 10$ but now no more weird gymnastics with wrenches and spreading the pistons open.

The EV thing I almost get. If the buyers said they don't want it. But I'd be clear that I'm taking it. Those are pretty expensive to install I think like in the range of five figures depending what gauge wire is needed and how long the run is. You don't just spontaneously remove things.

I painted the inside of our garage about 10 years ago. It was raw plaster and I used a bluish/gray Kilz. 7 gallons because the plaster was so thirsty. That included the ceiling. I also patched bunch of holes. Bathroom and bathroom ceiling a few times. Basement window frames that I cleaned up using Evaporust. I could go on. I don't know if it's the painting or the prep and masking that I hate. My daughter painted her entire condo and used no tape. She has such a good hand that she didn't even tape off the walls when she did the ceilings.

I can paint small parts, but that doesn't mean I like it.

Our first buyer backed out at the last minute for no good reason. I was pissed and afraid that we'd never be able to sell the house. We also had to back out of a nice house in Texas because we'd need to carry two mortgages with no assurance that we'd be able to sell this house. Our lawyer said that suing her would tie the house up even more. As it happened, our second buyer paid us $20 K over ask and waived the inspection because the house they lived in was being sold out underneath them. Which meant we ended up with three weeks to finish packing. Most stressful month of my life.

I used to do a lot of car stereo and two way radio installations. I needed a 1/4" drive ratchet set for that. Which I was taught to refer to as a Midget set. Which is a legitimate name for a different brand and style of 1/4" ratchet set.

I also have a 3/8" ratchet built on a 1/4" handle. Snap On of course. Good for tight spaces as long as you don't need a lot of force.

I never knew that existed. Now I need one. I usually use a big C clamp to press the pistons back in and it’s a pain.

The charger itself yeah, but legally the wiring/breaker/etc are fixtures - you can no more remove them without having it in writing than you could pull plumbing out of the walls. If the seller says "I'm keeping the fridge" in the sale contract, sure, but you can't remove the wiring! Guy even took the friggin conduit and box off the exterior wall. It was purely a spite move because they didn't get what they wanted for the house. Long story I'll spill tea on when this is resolved.

We just used a very large C clamp to do that. And the old pads of course.

Thirst is a real thing. I think it was my living room ceiling, took 3 or maybe 4 coats. Rough plaster so not shocking it needed some love but WTF. One room at a time we've had to tear the house down to studs (except the 2 small rooms upstairs) and start from scratch..wiring, insulation, windows, blah, blah. Only positive re painting is we didn't care about the floors in most rooms since we were redoing those too. And yes it's the taping and prepping that sucks an egg. Doing the middle of the wall gives more mileage per se and looks like you got more done as I see it.

Perfect world I'd have farmed out the small parts but I figured I'll give it a try and worst case I'll end up being unhappy and send it to the powder place anyway. Being it's a rider and not a museum quality build I'm okay with the end result.

Hate how people do business that way no matter what the business at hand is, ugh. Fortunate how it worked out in the end moneywise anyway.

Good point re the stereo, another thing I tinkered with a lot.

That's what we thought too. We did final walk through when we signed the original purchase agreement. It was our first time buying, I'll be more vigilant if we ever end up buying again.

Works amazingly well. The spring is a bit too much when it's new (doesn't want to ratchet).

I use a c clamp also, but i had to buy a specialty tool for my wife's car. They have the calipers yku need to twist and push back in at the same time. Its a complete asshat setup.

Oh, 100% it would be part of the agreement and disclosures. I wouldn't just say "oh, just the charger" then take the wiring - it would include, in disclosures (right place for it?) that I'm taking the whole shebang. They're starting to require heavy gauge wire for the run, and the boxes themselves are pricey (people are starting to cut the charger cables from public chargers and steal them for the copper cost). The mindset of "that's coming with us", I'm just saying, I understand. How they did it was shenanigans. And what they did, because it sounds like they didn't disclose they're taking the run from the breaker to the box either.

I have done that, but if you need to do both sides at the same time I end up using two wrenches and doing some sort of devil worship ceremony with them to open them up. It works for the person who does it every couple years like me.
