Access cab rear "speakers"

I still have the stock jbl audio system ---edit---: I only have the optional subwoofer and NOT the JBL system!

When listening to my CD's at max volume, my speakers make a very, very annoying cracking noise. Though, when I turn the fader to FWD 3 or more, it stops. But doing so also lowers the power to the JBL subwoofer. I found that the rear "speakers" (in the headliner) are probably the culprit (when putting fader to full REAR, it cracks like crazy).

I would like to know if I can just cut the power of the rear speakers without cutting the power to the subwoofer by taking out the head-unit and cutting wires?

 

I wired my 2 subs into the rear (roof) speakers and have it spliced to rears, as I didn't want to blow my front door speakers when cranking the music. I have noticed the occasional crackle too, but I also noticed that there is less bass coming from the subs.
Obviously those roof speakers are shit, and the deck probably has reduced power going to them. Junk!

 

Agreed they are absolute garbage and in now way worth the effort of replacing. I just cut some components in the rear doors instead.

 

Access cabs don't have a JBL option. You have a non JBL system and it's junk

I'm in the process of replacing mine right now. Wait until you see what the stock front door speakers are. It's absurd.

 

My guess is that if I cut the wire going to the rear speakers, I'll also cut the power the the rear subwoofer.

Mine are located into the headliner. Removing the headliner must be some big PITA I want to avoid doing if possible.

I have the JBL option, there is that subwoofer between the 2 rear seats also. It's even written in my manual that it is a JBL subwoofer. ---edit---: im a dumbass I do not have the jbl ok!

No, the sub won't work anymore when I put fader to the front. This is why "cutting the wires" was what I was looking at. Damm I hate this sound system...

 

Lol I really hate the soundsystem in mine too. They should have left it out completely and charged me $75 less.
