South Carolina BS thread under new MANAGEMENT and lives in SC

My neighborhood figured out that the HOA and Property Management Company never set up a fee structure. They have been trying to hold Home owners meetings with 33% of home owners in attendance(28 of us) so that they can pass a fee structure. Word got out as to what they were doing and in 3 attempted meetings they have gotten up to 7 home owners. Now the "warnings" for parking the street etc have stopped showing up bc the management company knows its a empty scare tactic and they know we know that lol. Basically everyone is doing whatever they want but they keep it classy as to not get flamed on the interwebs.

 

My statement also applies to the govt.

ours isn’t that serious. I did deny someone recently but it they clearly had not read the covenants.
I hate an hoa. I didn’t even attend the board meeting where I got voted in

 

The last head of our ACC said “nobody really cares what you do” when we originally broached our ideas before moving in. Guess the 3 guys that took over REALLY care haha.

 

Obviously I'm not in an HOA. This neighborhood was built starting in the 1950s. Our 90 year old neighbor (who recently passed away), was always having something built, sheds, etc. And just has stuff everywhere. My gf complained. I told her to mind her own business. Haha

 

I worry about my old lady neighbor passing away. She is the best quietest neighbor ever!

 

As much as we dislike HOAs we see the benefit overall. We turned down a few really sweet houses because we talked to neighbors and found out the HOA was big ol floppy pain in the ass. Our last HOA was just me and an old guy that would maintain the road and trim the trees at the entrance. If we needed rock or dirt for it, we’d send a letter letting everyone know and we never had a single person not donate money to the cause. Good HOAs make good neighbors and vice versa. We’ll get this one sorted out too.

and you can buy a lot of things, but good neighbors aren’t one!

 

No hoa here, but my neighbor judges everyone go back to high-school with that shit. Her husband helped me drag home my 54 chevy project, and she has to stare at it down the driveway, he told her I was going to park it in the front yard as art lol. Yesterday I told her husband I'd take his wheels off his truck and leave it on blocks in the driveway, granted we were talking about checking his brakes and rotating his tires.

 

Sounds horrible.

I need about 50 acres.....

Anyone have a 2nd gen silver streak mica long bed with a black or dark colored camper shell? I just picked up a silver streak mica camper shell and would like to trade for the right color or something not at drastic as silver on black.
