There shouldn't be, it just has to be strong enough to cycle the shock which you should be able to do by hand anyway. If you're bumped and strapped it shouldn't see anything excessive

What length bolts did you use? I'm open to feedback on making the kit better, and mounting the axle tabs is definitely something that could be easier.

I got ones that were like an inch longer and cut them down after installing but 1/2” longer is all I really needed.

I also have fat finger syndrome

They are, but it sounds like there's a good secondary market too.

Well, I secured a set. Now I need to pick a shock. As a weekend warrior, will I be good with the Bilstein 7100 short body 14"?

Being so much cheaper than the other options out there, what's the trade off?? Truck is a daily driver, that sees what little off-roading is possible in FL, with camping trips on the east coast, ozarks, etc. No high speed stuff.

FWIW, also have Dobinsons leafs, and DRT shackle hangers, once I get around to installing them.

The Bilstein is an ok shock, and it's serviceable , so you can adjust valving. If you're not going to buy kings it's what I'd recommend.

You're not going to get even 12" of travel out of stock spring geometry, so I'd go with a 12" short body and tuck the lower mount up higher. But I do know the 14" short body fits.

So, is compression more important than droop, for rock crawling and low speed stuff? If this wasn't my daily driver, I'd break down the leaf packs and actually try to cycle everything before ordering. But I pretty much have to be able to get things back together in a weekend.
