Good morning + coffee! Headed to Eugene OR to watch the US Olympic Trials - Track Field. My son is the head track coach of Valley Christian School in Spokane so he sort of "arranged" our family vacation this year. But to be fair, I ran track in HS in Portland, OR so it will be a blast.

Job interview update:
Interviewed with the hiring Manager yesterday. Was scheduled for 1 hour. At 1 hour 25 minutes in, he got a call for an actual major incident (I don't know any details) and said "my apologies, I have to drop to attend to this major incident. Right now, I am the only Incident Manager at the company,. which is why I'm trying to hire someone else to help with that. I'll have someone schedule a follow up as I still have about 30 minutes more questions and then you can ask me any questions you may have."

Sure enough, about an hour later, I get an email with the follow up interview for Monday afternoon.

So... my gut feel tells me that if he was not feeling like I am a decent fit, he would have ended the interview at the 1 hour mark, as originally scheduled, and he certainly would not have had someone schedule a continuation interview for Monday. I am cautiously optimistic, but don't wanna break out my "victory" cigar just yet. HR told me if I pass the interview with hiring Manager, I will then have a short interview with his Manager, so by the end of next week I should know if I will get to that next step.

But if things have been rough on my end as well? Then I usually lead with : I'm not the fukn enemy here....

 

It might be time to rethink these bushes or shrubs they are a little too tall even after a trim.
This isn’t how it started out the critters murdered the rest of the landscaping

Someone told me always have bushes lower than windows and railings…

I’m going to have to pull them up and start over. If I trim them any lower they will be all stick.

 

We had out of control boxwood in front of the house. They were in raised beds. Last December we had a week of below 0 weather that froze out the roots and killed em. Back in early spring I got to play with my winch. Dragged out 16 root balls. The house looks better without the shrubs. First time in 19 years could see the road from the front porch. Roots offered little resistance to 12,000 lb Warn winch.
