Yeah r/NFA has been blowing up with super short approvals the last week or two. Enough that it was so flooded with threads about sub one week approvals that the mods made a rule you get a 1 week ban for those posts now. One guy had a 6 hour approval.

Apparently the ATF recently testified in a court case on the Texas suppressor freedom law that their processing times are way shorter than they actually are so now they’re trying to artificially get the average down with super fast approvals.

bummer thing is that eForms is currently offline with no ETA on when it will be back up.

and while that 4 day approval was cool and all, I feel bad for the 15 others that got skipped over. One is going on a year now and still waiting…

 

Not really for you to do, but for the buyer.

But once over the "average" wait times, contact your rep and have them submit an inquiry to the ATF on the status. You'll have to fill out a form or two to let them.

But it tends to get an approval or denial within 2-3 weeks (if not sooner). Form 1 I did I did that and after the office of the representative contacted the ATF, I had it approved in like 2 days....they were even nice and approved one I had submitted 3-4 days ago too.

Just don't try jumping the gun before the average wait time or they just respond with "it's within the average wait time" bs

 

Good advice. He's done that, 3 times now. I think he's just super unlucky, or some other events in his life are causing hold ups.....

Anyone know of any local AR500 steel companies? Something to hang 3 or 4 plates off of and won’t cost $500.

 

Check with a local metal fab shop. They could laser cut to size what you need. You don't say where you are, Just Oregon.

Yeaaaaa. My gun budget isn't as big as my other hobbies budget. Get's to the gun store on Friday. Maybe I'll get lucky and have it in my hands next week
