As someone who has owned all gens for well over 2 decades now and have bought other products and worked on etc. for the wife, yes they have gone down hill and slipped, maybe not as bad as the others and examples you are showing, but they indeed are not the same vehicle they were before. But I'll argue nothing is, houses, appliances, etc. and probably still the better choice if choosing.

No, it signals the eminent DEATH of your V6.

    https://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2023/chrysler-pentastar-engine-lawsuit-partly-dismissed.shtml

You start to get a small valve tick noise that is synced with the engine RPMs, and eventually it gets worse and worse until the inevitable happens. It cost me $2700 to rebuild the top half of my Pentastar, but ironically I sold it for just under $2800 less than I paid 8 years and 70,000 miles earlier.

There is.............. My brother has a 2023 392 JL, and that little V8 in a Wrangler does ALL kinds of justice to it, and fairly solid to boot.

Ford said a design change in October 2021 changed the intake valve material to a different alloy. Ford added it believed "defective intake valves commonly fail early in a vehicle’s life and has suggested that the majority of failures have already occurred.

I remember seeing a few popped motors on the Bronco forums…. But my point was that they seem to be better now whereas Toyota has still to go through the same type of beta testing by consumers

The thing that really irks me about Toyota is the engine repair pricing. A Tacoma V6 costs (parts) 25k to replace which is frankly insanity. I think the tundra number is closer to 35k. These part costs total out nearly new vehicles which is frankly price gouging by Toyota Corp.

I went full size, Denali, and don't regret it. I just couldn't bring myself to pay close to $60k for the new Taco. The lifetime powertrain warranty thrown in was very appealing and made me feel a lot more comfortable with the GMC. Tundra engine failures are concerning but I'm sure Toyota will make it right. Check the extended warranties as well.

I get it. I took the leap of faith but bought a 10 yr./100k warranty on top of the lifetime powertrain just for peace of mind. Never been a fan of extended warranties but I think the quality from all OEM's and suppliers is growing more suspect.

My feelings after sitting in, driving and owning new Lexus/toyota products and it’s not just this forum jump on channel reviews and same topics of plastic junk for Lexus etc. I think the field is starting to even out, for me it would be how they treat customers. When my 16 was a turd they put me in a same rental and backed their work with a free platinum warranty without a fight. Not sure the same would happen today. Lifted a few and never had a dealer question any warranty repairs.

I am on the Tacoma World page as well as a Tundra page on Facebook. Almost daily you see a blown engine and even see several people who have had their rebuilt 3.4 blow up a 2nd time. Probably because the motors are insanely complex and service techs are being asked to do too much. I'd want a crate engine if mine blew up. If they are lucky Toyota will give them a rental Corolla to drive for a month.

Yea super out and about living its best life. That thing was in super low volume Lexus ls500s piloted by geriatric owners likely barely seeing any Miles. Once it hit the general public in 21/22 in tundras and Lexus vehicles that require some more effort to move and actually get miles they went poof

Christopher Vest is right. The ‘21 is an out dated tank (I owned one). Lethargic, slow shifting, and the suspension is soft as shit
