LTs dont ride like a dump truck. Common misconception that people read about on this forum, then re-post. With the right setup, they ride similar to a C load tire. Ive had both grade of tire on my truck, so have first-hand experience. Both C and LT / E load with the Fox Pro suspension, and now the Bilstein 6112s. Honestly the tires didn’t make much of a difference in ride quality.

So I'm not likely to notice a huge difference between 116 and 126t?

    Specifically, my current tires
    265/70 R 16 112T
    VS prospective tires.

I honest dont know what those numbers mean. I have had the following tires - both at different times when using the Fox Pro and the Bilstein 6112 suspension setups. I could NOT tell a difference in ride quality when changing the tires.

Here are the setup combos Ive had:

    1. Fox Pro Suspension + BFG 265/70/17 C Load
    2. Fox Pro Suspension + BFG LT275/70/17 E Load
    3. Bilstein 6112 / 5160 + BFG 265/70/17 C Load
    4. Bilstein 6112 / 5100 + BFG LT275/70/17 E Load (My current setup)

After all this swapping around… For me… the best combination has been Bilstein 6112 / 5100s w/ BFG LT275/70/17. It honestly rides great both on and off-road living in Colorado.

What were the differences between the 5100 and 5160 that made you downgrade?

Wasn’t a downgrade which may be a surprise... One of the 5160s started leaking so I swapped them both out for 5100s for the heck of it. The 5100 ride quality was literally the same. At least I could not tell a difference. The 5160s in the rear are not worth the price difference and the risk of leaking, in my experience.

How long did you have them before they started to leak, and did you notice any differences, even subtle between the two when going over bumpy roads? (The city streets around here are kind of bad)

No difference. They leaked within 2k miles - it was the reservoir fitting. Apparently it’s a common thing, which is why I elected to just go with the 5100s… and to my surprise they rode just as well. All kinds of driving. City streets. Bumpy first roads. Legit wheeling.

How have the 6112s been for you?

I love the 6112s. Best value in suspension in my opinion. Easily. I really would recommend the 6112 + 5100 combo. You cant beat it for the price. Honestly I dont think you can beat it without spending money on Kings. Sounds nuts but… more money doesn’t always mean better.

I kept looking at the OME BP-51 but that goes down the rabbit hole that a 2"+ lift needs all at once whereas I can scale up to 2" with the bills steins rather having to do suspension, tire, wheels, needle bearing, CMC,.etc all at once.

Definitely still do the needle bearing. It’s worth it for risk management while things are getting worked on. But no need to replace the UCAs unless you max out the clip height on the 6112s

Yeah, I plan on doing the needle bearing ASAP, it's just less urgent when I'm maintaining factory height..
