I hold that the AC SPORT 6MT is the finest Tacoma offering Toyota has made.
    Barca RED to be definitive.

All others are mere wanna be.

But then, I am opinionated on this topic.

Silver hides the road dust, but does not age well. turning gray with lost luster.
Red is as the blush of a beautiful woman, enhancing interest with the passing years.

But when the light is right....

red is still the fastest color!

    ;-)

Oh! and that floppy OR hood. the shimmering sunlight off the silvered hood must drive one absolutely to distraction. If only there were some detail that could stiffen that boring expanse of painted sheet steel.....

Suspension, anti roll bars, body styling "points" such as the hood scoop and front air dam, rear differential (And I am not sure why)

I must admit ignorance to the slush box versions/ Is the off road even offered in MT?

Yes, both the Sport and the Off Road are offered with manual transmissions (as was the TRD Pro for the pre-4th Gen Tacomas).

I opted for a Sport over the Off Road because of the stiffer suspension, better manners when braking and handling curves, and the quieter ride when at speed. What I find so interesting in this thread is why the Off Road bigots insist the Sport is a poser Tacoma simply because it doesn't have more capabilities when off the beaten track; apparently they don't realize many of us don't off-road, but still need a truck for towing and schlepping stuff around, with 99.9% of that movement being on pavement, and the remaining 0.1% of the time spent rolling across the lawn with a load of mulch. Different Tacomas for different purposes.

Speaking of being bigoted, I confess, I am a self-described manual transmission bigot; that said, other than jokingly calling the transmissions of vehicles not so equipped "autotragic", I don't look askance at Tacomas without three pedals under the dash.

Only in the cookie cutter 4 door version, if you wanted a 2 door with an actual truck box and a real transmission the only option was a sport.
Unless you are in Canuckistan. There you could get a 2 door off road with a manual but not a 2 door sport. Clear as mud? Good!
    I'm here to help.

No regrets. Have a 2019 TRD Sport in midnight black. Have 150k miles and no breakdowns whatsoever. My wife just bought a 2023 TRD Sport and loves it.
On mine I just put on BFG KO2’s just because I wanted a little bigger tire. They are 275-65-17. A little wider and maybe taller
