Highlights are Nathan tapping on the top of the hard plastic door of $69K GMC (RR and Limited/Pro/TH have padded door panels) and saying the AEV edition is a fat pig with all of its armor compared to the RR. Then Andre tells him they both weigh 5,350lb.

I think the "Pro/TH vs. any other Tacoma" point was that you actually got something for the additional cost.

You could stay with RR, and install some Rancho Quicklift struts in the seat backs of your Recaros. Buy 7000 Hot Wheels w the money left over.

Pro= shiny, go-fast (looking) truck - most will only see moderate off-road use

TH = matte, rugged overlanding truck - will see slightly more off-road use than the Pro

I think they got the demographics right.

For all you gloss black flare haters, they will also have a matte carbon version ($1,200 and $1,300 respectively). Plain matte black are only $650.
    upload_2024-6-21_7-53-32.png

Surprised they aren't offering a plain gloss version for the Pro cloners.

I see lots of 3g Tacomas with TRD wheels, leveling kit, heritage grille, and TRD exhaust. Now you have to add gloss flares, wrap the roof black, and coming soon seat back panels with non-functional shocks.

I have a real question and hopefully someone might have a legitimate answer.
Why is Toyota, pushing for the spray on bedliner on our new Tacoma’s with the polycarbonate beds? Are they still polycarbonate? If they are, why would anybody want a spray on bedliner?

Toyota is not. Toyota distributors are. It is a port installed item and a way to fleece you out of more money.

It's the dollar thing. It's probably costing Toyota $50 and they are charging it at $575 if I recall. The dealer's invoice price for the "feature" is unknown, but I'm sure they are making money from it, too.

When I started a dialogue with the dealer about an order (allocation), I told him I didn't want the bed liner. He found an allocation without it, and I've got my name on it.

I get the idea that dealers have some control over port-installed options with allocations. My OR with Premium package will have mud flaps, and that's it.

And yeah, it's the same (great) bed as in the third-gen. I'll put a topper on my new truck–just like my 2016–and I'll want to be able to slide stuff in and out.

Conveniently, there are few bed mats available, and none for the 6' 2024s. The spray on is nice if you are getting in and out of a wet bed, which gets slick without it. A $200 bed mat would be nicer than a $600 spray on though.
