I have a 16 with almost 104k and mine is good but I think I am going to replace it after watching the 2 videos. I just did my spark plugs at 103,500 and that took about 2.5 hours taking my time.

i'm getting the impression i could wait until 60K and be okay. with the 7-8 K a year i drive now (retired), that's two years and it will be in good shape for its next owner.

thanks for all the inputs And videos. loves me youtube!

I've got 32k on my 2017. The belt is still in good shape after 7-8 years. If you see cracks or weathering replace it. I've bought the oem replacement and the groves aren't nearly as deep as the factory oem belt. I might order the continental belt.

Bear in the mind that technically a belt should be driven by contact to the sides or the rib like a v-belt would and that when the peaks and valleys or the ribs touch, thats when you get slippage and noise

i just ran into this on my other vehicle. a 2014 subaru brz.

the belt started squeaking on startup at 45k miles.
i changed the belt, same problem.

turned out all 3 idler pulley's ejected their grease, but the the manufacturing tolerances weren't right, and the inside bearing shield was scraping on the mount enough to squeak.

but i wouldn't advise changing either the pulley's or the belt unless there's an issue.

That’s a good point, there are ratchets with extending handles available. I keep one in mine and my wife’s car for tires, but they would also provide the torque needed for replacing the timing belt.

Judy Hensler was an early bloomer.

No Zelda Gilroy, but y'know, it was a simpler time.
