I'm not desperate to sell it or anything, but would like room for a different bike in it's spot that will get ridden more. I feel it's priced fair for the year, so I'll let it ride for now. The ADV/dirt bug has bitten hard, I like getting away from the street traffic. The Versys is the first bike I've owned with a fairing and windscreen and I'm not hating that either.

I very rarely encounter another Triumph Trophy, while a great bike they just were not good enough to take share from the BMW RT.

Today there is a blue in at the Lookout roadhouse in Lake Elsinore (CA). Mine is the black one. IMG_1092.jpg IMG_1091.jpg IMG_1088.jpg

Exact same lump as my GRiSO, just tuned a bit different to put the torque lower in the curve. They are mile munchers, well sprung, Shaft drive, can carry their weight. But they are heavy and if down, they're a bear to lift.

The 1200 8V motor though....sublime. same drivetrain here...

    upload_2024-6-22_13-17-9.png

The new Stelvio. (custom paint) 1042cc liquid cooled. I see it more as a sport tourer than ADV as billed. Nice. Not for the BDR in my view

just a couple of things tbh
So today started with a fun day getting a newish set of wheels for cheap for the Tacoma. To going out to my grandparents to ride the klx and swim and the stupid thing ran like shit the entire time... It makes no sense! If you stand up on the bike it stalls... And then randomly grabs power and throttles all the way up... If you sit down it runs but not great... I took the seat off to check if a wire or something is smashed but nope nothing so I have zero clue what's wrong with this thing... I rode it like three days ago and it was fine... I love the klx but it has been a massive pain in my ass every now and then when it doesn't want to work and runs like dogshit... Starting to wonder is it time to sell it after fixing it again and get a newer dirtbike... Idk what you all think?

Left my house this morning just after 8 and it was already 80 degrees. 285 miles later as I got home it was showing 100 on my air temp gauge. I love to ride but it was brutal.

Went on my first ride since surgery on my mouth. Pressure from the helmet on my cheeks was bearable but still made them sore. Went out on the monkey first since it hasn’t been ridden the longest. Had to bump start it because I didn’t have it on the charger. Fired right up and ran perfect. Then I came back and jumped in the Klx. Did a pretty good loop ride but it cost me about $83. I pulled over the adjust the idle and hit the rear brake and nothing. Jumped off and the exhaust was smoking a bit. The rear brake line was too close to the exhaust and melted through. I was able to take the screwdriver out of the tool kit and bend it out of the way. So when I first installed the exhaust I noticed the rear passenger peg was hitting the pipe. Well just before I went for my last ride with my bro I took them off. That dropped the exhaust down a bit and was super close to the brake line which obviously I didn’t notice. The new rear line is $83. Probably should have just bought an aftermarket braided line but didn’t. When I replace it I will make sure I have plenty of room for the line.
Otherwise had a great time. Love the KLX!!

Hey Kevin, how do you like the TB exhaust on the monkey? I have it in my cart but haven’t pulled the trigger. Some reviews said it’s louder than the yoshi. I’m not looking for something loud and not even hoping for power gains, just something better than stock in terms of tone.

It’s loud but I think any aftermarket exhaust without a baffle will be that way. The TB does come with a baffle but I don’t run it. I like it because everyone can hear me. It’s really no louder than the Klx with the barkers or even my FZ1 with the gytr exhaust.

I'm pretty much sitting out anything other than early morning or late-night rides for the next 90 days. Mesh and a Tech-Niche vest only go so far with me these days.

I know we have talked about this before and I had never actually seen it.......but this is from a CB500X on the SM500.

I'd like to know the story since it's a rear wheel. A bit strange to me.

Years ago I did yes I rebuilt the carb when I did the Jett kit. It's been fine this entire time and was fine just a few days ago when I was riding around town with it....

Also the Drz filter is in the petcock and the carb. Bout it.

If its sat for awhile without being drained or just over time a little piece of something gets up in the slow jet / slow circuit you can have issues as described. I have seen the filters on the petcock stalks degrade and clog up a carb too..

Ill bet if you just pull the bowl of the carb (you could probably do this in the bike just spin the carb to one side) pull the slow jet and main jet clean em out good and blast up into where the slow jet lives with a few spurts of carb cleaner she will run well.

Changed oil and filter on the 2013 FJR this afternoon when I got home from a short ride. 65k miles on it, I've added over 5k miles since buying it at Thanksgiving
