Good morning all. Think I'm going to head out soon for a ride so I get back before the worst of the heat sets in. :bikewheelie:

Got my limb trimmings hauled to the limb recycling and picked up a UT load of composted dairy manure yesterday. Going to try to feed all the roses this morning before it gets too hot. So far it has been the very best rose fertilizer I have found and we have used some ridiculously expensive fertilizers from the fanciest garden store around. Compost beats them all hands down!
Getting my vitamin D doing yard work then in my man cave to cool off. Looks like 90-100 and no rain for the next two weeks! Oh my water bill is going to be crazy high!
May take my better half out for an ice cream hot fudge sundae as a little treat.
Have a glorious day ladies and gents! Do something special!

:pccoffee: :bananadead: sixtys/wannabes/green thumbs. I have a 'black thumb' so I'm jealous!

I'm heading out to a reunion of my mother's father's family tree members today. It's at a picnic grove, outside, and they're predicting mid-90's temps. I'm looking forward to seeing folks, but not being out in this weather. Heck, I'm sitting still inside the house and sweating!

    Morning all:

Hit Walmart early this morning which was a good thing. Went to the aisle to pick up some disposable razors and found them all locked up, needed to ring a buzzer to get an associate to unlock the area they were in, then she put them in a locked plastic container which had to be removed by an associate at checkout, crazy world and not getting any better, pretty soon they will have to have everything locked up, seeing it more and more! :(

A little something every chance we get.
:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Off to Triple C Chop Shop to let Chris get the last glitch out of my tune. An annoyance more than anything. Won't have parts to wreck my day on the greenhouse pump until tomorrow, so I get a frustration break. Start of a HOT, HUMID, and sunny spell for us - sitting on high 90's all week.

Around here they closed the self checkout lanes for about twenty minutes. They said it was due to a surge in thefts. I guess paying checkers costs less than someone stealing, which kinda makes sense to me. I go to them because I like to bag my own stuff. They were reopened again in maybe a week.

I get volunteers tomatoe plants in my garden every year. Never know if they are going to produce tomatoes or not but most do. As soon as I see them I cultivate and tend them. Some of the best producers and tastiest tomatoes have been my volunteers. Look forward to them every year.

Going to be 103 today but no humidity here so it’s not that bad. Not going in the pool today. Doing outside chores this morning and then kick back in the A/C and watch some movies. Going to watch Oppenheimer (3 hours long), I’ve heard it’s a good movie . It’s free on Amazon Prime.

103? Wow, you're a lot older than your picture. So tell me, at that age what's the secret to life?

(LOL... I just read it that way and thought it was funny.)

98 degrees today in Jacumba Hot Springs! 30 of my neighborhood buddies are camping out there at the RV Park (Used to be a clothing optional RV Park)
I had to cancel because I F'd up my Achilles. Plan was to ride mountain bikes to the train tracks at Corrizo Gorge.

They closed it? I worked in Jacumba quite a few years back...1996. For a wide spot in the road it has a bit of history.

Hmmm.. Out of the blue, thought I should check the car battery yesterday. This sustained heat is as bad as winter cold on a battery. It's ok, but less than ideal, and 6+ years old. I'll get a new one. We have a couple long trips coming up soon. No need to take a chance in this heat. At least my brain clock is still working.

:jellydance: Looks like you can make a pasta sauce early this year.

Good morning. It hit 100 in DC yesterday, first time in 6 years. It is supposed to be hotter today. Music was outside last night, and the outside temp was 88 but the wind coming in off of the water made for a pleasant evening. Tonight, it is a wine tasting event at a local vineyard. Going over to my cousin's condo to fix a few small items first.

WOW! I have tomato envy! My plants never get that big!
99* today, but unlike most of you it’s extremely dry.
Our daughter and grandbabe are making grandma a birthday lunch.
Have to water the veges, spread some more magic compost, refill bird feeders and wash and refill bird bath, hopefully all before it gets too hot. Then shower and get ready for grandma’s birthday celebration.

Stay safe in this heat, but make it a great day in spite of the weather!
