If I do remove it, I'll either sell the bar as a whole or just hold onto it in case I ever want to put it back on.

Probably better to sell it and buy bed stiffeners.

I would go with an Alu-Cab Contour Canopy- a perfect match for the overlanding persona of the TH. I guess it may take a bit of time before Alu-Cab comes out with Gen4 compatible models.

    BTW, great looking truck, congratulations!

Took a look and it appears as if those corner pieces are separate from the bar itself, but as you see above the setup isn't cheap from Toyota. I'm going to sell mine and put a tonneau cover on. Can't have both the way the bar attaches to the side rails.

That still won't secure gear in the bed.

I couldn't agree more. About the only failing I see in the Trailhunter!

I think that's the gvwr? Actual payload, i.e. how much stuff you can put in your truck, has been around 1200 lbs for most of the non-hybrids. Even though Toyota advertised 1700 pretty much everywhere. Curious to see what your rig shows.

Onky thing on driver door jam stickers is one saying that due to modifications the load carrying capacity is reduced 121 lbs.

    You read the instructions?
That’s the weight of the add-ons.

You need a computer degree to understand all the safety and functions this truck has!

@Brentbba the payload sticker looks like this. You can see in the middle there it says "The combined weight of occupants and cargo should never exceed 1270 lbs." Can you let us know what yours says? Should be in the door jamb on the drivers side near the bottom.

You the man @Brentbba! Thank you! While nowhere near 1700lbs, its not as bad as I expected. The payload on my 2017 OR doesn't even break 1000lbs. On the TR, you already have a full set of armor plates, sliders, and 33s, so a 1000lb payload is pretty good imo!

You can also see the little yellow limitations sticker too. All these decades driving and have only noticed the obvious psi info. Never noticed the payload info!

Youre not alone there. Most Toyota drivers dont even know what payload is. We just carry our bumpers, armor, campers, gear, and passengers, while towing around 6000lb trailers. Lol. Can you do it? Yes. Is it safe? Hell no.

There’s usually another addendum sticker for trucks with add ons.

The add on called an ARB sport bar is gone. Not a tough choice between it and a hard tonneau cover to protect and secure my camping gear. Sold it to a nice youg mm an with an Underground TRD Sport last night. He was so stoked that he went home a d installed it immediately! Got a pic at 10:48pm from him!

Tonneau cover should arrive this week.

This. This is why I stick with this platform. Aftermarket is huge.

A lot. Check out my build page.
Nice looking truck! I have a gray one on order. Wondering if you wouldn't mind doing a quick measurement for me?? Can you measure from the center of the wheel/hub to the bottom of the fender on both front and rear?
