lol, today will be a high of 93. they're calling for a high throughout the 90's all next week.

if it was 71 here, i'd be working outside! my perfect temperature is anywhere from 50-75 degrees. after 75, i only work when someone's paying me.

35-45 for me is perfect for hanging out and doing stuff, although I'll work in 50-60

Once it hits 70, I start hating a lot of stuff

It was over 103 two weeks ago out here

It relocates the TSS on a later gen Tundra

Issue being that the bracket is discontinued

I have no idea about anything TSS related on these newer vehicles so all I can say is it relocates it

Sent that piece I made as a sample, but apparently I was right on the money

Member gave me all the measurements he had and really it was just a matter of estimating the offset on that wide horizontal piece

That and the lower leg opening

On the plus side, my metal scrap dude finally swung by yesterday

    20240614_162426.jpg

Picked up over 400lbs of scrap steel (if you include the GX rotors I recently replaced)

There were 12 sheets ranging from 2' x 4' up to 4' x 4' of steel on that dolly

Made plenty of room at least

Send some of that down my way...

Was just looking at mini-splits for the garage so I can actually get work done out there in the summer.

    Ha

I either decide to work another day, or do so early in the morning when it's hot

I can turn on the air compressor, change my clothes, throw steel on the table and get to cutting something, only to drain the air compressor, get everything cleaned up and put away in less than an hour.

Done multiple small jobs that way just like the bracket in the previous page.

Just time your job and do so accordingly.

This evening, I cut the 1st layer of a sign for a friend. He just retired and is building a new garage to do some auto repair work.

16 gauge and the back plates will be 18 gauge. We're going to light the center section. That's about 40" tall.

    He's volunteered to paint it!

I'm want to put up a sail awning. Unfortunately I get 50mph where I live at least once a week. After calculating the deflection I'm find myself needing ~$1200 of 5" schedule 80 pipe.

To get the cost down, I'm considering using a smaller pipe/tube and using a cable truss. Have any of you used a cable truss on a project?

I don't know how y'all deal with rust; to the left is some extra scrap I've left on the table, on the right is a saw blade my metal guy dropped off after he picked up scrap steel

    20240619_195954.jpg

Little bit of clean up with the wire wheel

    20240622_101823.jpg

And onto cutting; customer wanted to make a clock out of this thing with his company name

    20240622_104047.jpg

Dross wasn't bad, considering it's rusted 16 gauge

    20240622_104536.jpg

All the bridging remained intact, including the A and B only for them to get knocked off when I hit the rear with a wire wheel

    20240622_105925.jpg

It's ok, customer is actually super happy with how it came out

i prep just about everything with this. fantastic tool. primarily use the yellow drums. even works great for paint prepping new tubing just to give it a little texture for adhesion. removing the rust on that saw blade is about 4 seconds of work with this thing. [IMG]

My friend and I both got into CNC at the same time; difference between both of us is that he loves making signs (not my specialty) so he bought that tool when it came out and loves it

I don't have a demand for signs, and my scrap metal is rust free (even the hundreds of pounds I get rid of every month)

BUT, if something changes I'll definitely buy that tool you linked

Mainly do parts and being thicker metal, it's all dross free and definitely without rust
