Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Trading for a 4th gen would be cheaper...

    I'm on team Yellow.
I started when my wife got me a drill for Xmas. I have since added a 1/2" drive impact, a 1/4" drive impact, a jig saw, a circular saw, a leaf blower, a grass trimmer, a vacuum and just yesterday I got a extended length hedge trimmer. Yellow has served me well.

Relentless Fab hybrid bumper, 2.5” Dobinsons IMS lift, RCI skids and sliders, block heater. Painted FJ Steelies. Was trying to keep it stock, now slowly building for the Wisconsin trails.
I spent some time researching the front suspension on these after a coworker told me about it.

Very interesting. While the spindle configuration limits the max tire diameter the stock tires are already huge by SxS standards. There is little to no scrub radius by having the upper ball joint centered on the tire and in line with the lower. Having a long upper control arm means that there is less camber change as the suspension cycles. That isn't always a good thing as having the tires tip in at the top under braking and cornering is desirable. But it also means that the tires aren't tipping out at full extension or under acceleration.
From what I have seen the SxS press is raving about it, but most of what I saw were press releases so I'm taking it with a dose of salt.

Also for the price of one fully loaded you could buy a SR or possibly an SR5 Tacoma.

Good to know, Rich. Thanks for the info. There's a Harbor Freight right across the road from Home Depot. I'll check there, too.

Yeah. We got lucky today. Areas within 10-20 miles got up to 3” of rain today!

For what it's worth, my work rig has DeWalt, and they get used and abused in the sun, rain, snow, heat, cold, and dropped from 25 ft up. And still work great.

I made good use of this rainy day. Rotated tires, while tires were off I cleaned up the backside of the rims. After that I gave the old girl an oil change.
    Then I took a nap.

Found a killer deal on a set of sliders the other day. New on FB Marketplace. Next up - Tires (after I take a roadtrip to TN this summer)

They have coupons all of the time. Frequently, they'll have a 'buy a battery and charger and get a tool' coupon. Check this site: https://www.hfqpdb.com/
