A little of this and a little of that.
    Good evening everyone-

The first gun I ever bought with my own money was this H&R 20 Gauge. I’ve accumulated quite a few since then, but this is still a favorite. If you miss a squirrel with the first shot, you aren’t probably aren’t getting another one anyway. IMG_3744.jpg

    Wut no 16 ga?!

I have clay guns and hunting guns I don't buy them to sit in the safe to pull out and have a fondlefest couple times a year LOL. The JEG I posted earlier has more than 100K rounds through it. The pair of 16's above have at least 20K each. I shoot a lot.

In March one of the first jobs I gave the GX was to haul half a ton of lead shot home from a club an hour and half away. Love that V8. It loves gas stations though LOL

I have nothing against pumps either grew up with Ithaca 37's. In 16 ga. back in the 60's. Still shoot them 37RVD and Field. In 16ga. of course

For hunting I've been moving more toward SxS guns the last few years. In 16 of course

Well that sucks and hopefully they can work it out. I can't like that.

    So......

Tuesday got a call at 8PM phone ID said Mayo Clinic. Thought it was the Help Desk I am the go to for some of the systems. It wasn't it was the Pulmonary Department Chair. He apologized for calling so late but said he was leaving in the morning for Norway for 3 weeks. Told me he would normally wait to tell me in person but didn't have a choice. Looked up his name later and he is the keynote speaker at a World Medical Conference.

Haven't been hitting on all cylinders last few months so made a doc appointment that lead to a few more. The Dept. Chair told me I have lung cancer. With the data they have so far looks to be early stage and treatable. Blood work explains a lot and why I'm so tired. I just cancelled my shooting tomorrow don't have the energy. But going Thursday Friday and Saturday and giving it everything I got.

Monday pulmonary function test and PET scan. Tuesday have a consult to find out my options, surgery, radiation or both. I watched my son and father both go through high dose chemo and really hope that is not on the table.

Hopefully they can figure out a better course of action for you and sooner than later.

I’ve always had a soft spot for a shotty too. I grew up hunting with them and started policing before the AR's became the norm. Even toward the end of my career I would grab a shotty for clearing buildings and car take downs. I have my share of AR's too and will admit they are easier to shoot and more appropriate for a lot of circumstances but it’s hard to beat a shotty when you’re kicking doors.

All of mine are working guns and show the hard life but I do appreciate the fine wood, deep bluing and engraved receivers of those high end sporting guns.

    :hattip:Good morning

Off to the salt mine soon. Enjoy your Sunday.

Good thoughts to you Chief as you navigate through your health treatments. F**k cancer.

Great shotguns you have. I have 12 and 20 ga Ithaca 37’s. Sadly no 16 ga in my stable. Need to correct that.

Good morning. 75 degrees with 70% humidity. This reminds me of the summer I spent in Miami.
