Nothing wrong with my 2017, 2020 tacomas. I’ve owned 5 third gen’s. Last 3 haven’t been all the impressive but then again I’m anal. My 2022 sr5 had 2 separate oil leaks, one of which required the engine out due to the cylinder head leaking oil due to bad casting, truck only had 4k miles . First the valve cover leaked oil then 2k miles later the head leaked oil.

I think I'll wait for the dust from WW3 to settle before buying a 4G.

I’m keeping my 2017 for a while, but might be tempted in a few years once the new design kinks worked through. I plan to go down and drive a 2024 when dealership has a few more on the lot.

I test drove a sr5. Nice truck indeed, but the new model year has me slightly concerned not to mention the 9 percent interest rate

Do you really want yet another truck? You're just gonna be disappointed and come on here to complain about every little detail again.

    Nope!
    Not interested at this point.

I already have the best Taco ever... :kona:

4th gen does not really offer anything I don't have... and would want.

I'm happy to wait for a practical EV pickup / off roader to eventually replace the tacoma.

The taco is our only remaining non EV...

I’ve had mine for three weeks and put 800 miles on it. I took it on the same 3 hour trip that I took my third gen on dozens of times and I can say it handled it a lot better. It was all highway with several elevation changes and it’s so much more comfortable. The transmission never lost its mind, I didn’t need to have the radio turned all the way up because of the wind noise and the seating position feels like you’re in a car. I was a bit militant over all of the technology but turns out I actually enjoy it. I have the laptop head unit and it’s nice to see the huge map. It’s a little bright driving at night but you can shut it off. I also like all of the places to put stuff and the cup holders are improved for different size drinks. The back seat is still useless but I rarely have passengers. The fit and finish is fine and I see no difference from my third gen. Yeah I’m worried about it being the first year but I’ve mentally prepared myself for any issues and I trust Toyota to make it right if something does happen. I don’t think they are dropping the ball on this one.

Huge pass. Not because its new gen but I don't like the truck itself. I don't like the looks, the interior, and most of all the engine.

The engine is exactly why I'm considering one. Turbo-4 > NA V6 any day.

No , why , high prices and now recently manual and automatic transmissions are failing now . I happy to say I'm gonna wait .

My 3rd gen is a 2017 and I'm creeping on 250k miles and still as happy as the day I bought mine brand new at $35k

I wasn't even in the market, but sold my 2018 and specifically purchased a 2023 last Nov so I wouldn't be stuck with a 4th gen truck. All manufacturers need time to work the issues out on a major redesign.

Was not expecting to see another 4th genner post anything in here.

I went to a 4th gen due to price. I needed to get out of my 2022 TRD OR manual for an automatic and every 2022 or 2023 certified was just about as expensive as my '24 SR5. Made that a no brainer. I'm enjoying the truck.

I went by the dealer on Friday to pick up a couple of filters. It's the first time that I have seen the '24 up close and personal.

I bought my first Tacoma, a '23 TRD OR, back in August of '23. I was not that impressed with the new one. I was worried that once I saw the new one, I would be telling myself that I wished I had waited a bit longer for the new one to come out. I left there happy with my choice from August of '23.
