Yeah, and it’s unfortunately a trend that has been going on for a couple decades. Lots of reasons for it, and lots of people to blame too.

It's almost like staying deliberately misinformed is part of the plan.

It's like all the guys saying "I'll never buy a vehicle with a battery in it". Like bro, look under the hood.

why? i mean, it's cool and all to drink the tesla koolaid that ev's are new and fresh and innovative and driving stock prices up, but actual country-wide purchasing trends are indicating the exact opposite trends. ford drastically reduced their ev rollout plans, toyota--lambasted by the entire speculative stock industry for the past 5 years for not developing ev's, is literally dancing around a little "told ya so" dance, with many more market examples as well-- gm's not doing great with their ev rollout, and trucking industry is one large flatulence at the sight of 'last-mile' ev's.

ev's work for california specifically due to their population density, climate, and wealth. the rest of the country has almost none of those things, which is drastically polarizing the market, with shareholders demanding products people doing the actual purchasing don't actually want.

Yes, I am conflating EVs and Hybrids.
Both have batteries, and is a deal breaker for my consideration.

I looked at the Toyota site Builder app, which only uses 2024 models.
Dunno what old Tundras have, and don't care... not interested in buying a used Tundra.
Was just curious if Toyota has gone to batteries in the models I have interest in.
They have done so, so no more Toyotas for me, don't want batteries.

What are you talking about? You can buy plenty of Toyota models with just a gasoline engine and zero e.v

Tacoma is on the clock, as in following the Tundra problems... seen videos for months on YouTube w/ overheating...
This guys seems pretty legit and he references TW posts . ;)
Parts supply chain issues just add to the fun...

Points out specifically where Toyota has gone "cheap. Not overbuilt like the past".

    "Wait until 2025-2026"

Buyer beware till Toyota gets on top of this.... not earth shattering news for large redesigns

    Interesting.
Based upon my CA zip code, the builder offered ONLY battery equipped models.

All cars have batteries, this side of anything with a hand crank starter.
