It hasn't tbh it's sat for two days since I last rode it. I use it for around town stuff and it normally rides fine no issues. My buddy said I can bring it over sometime and we can look at it.

So for the new gas tank it has a new line the drz has one fuel line that's it... It's small... And I can tell you for sure a line won't cause the issue... All I've ever ridden is old dirtbikes and ATVs majority from the 90s and a few 80s unless the line has ruptured it's fine... The klx is just being a bitch and it's honestly pissed me off...

For the Jett being clogged it usually has to sit for a long time I've never had a Jett get clogged from a week of sitting or a couple days I'm talking normally months to a year time frame..

I have seen em clog from a random tiny piece of something that got dislodged which makes a perfectly good running bike instantly shit.

Also check spark plug boot / wire for cracks, could have intermittent spark.

Changed oil n filter, rear gear oil, washed AND waxed the super tenere yesterday evening.... My truck just looked at me in disgust as it hasn't been washed in over year (the rain in the wintwr is considered washing right? ) and needs an oil change.

Pretty hot today for my area 87ish, took a ride to the beach 10mi away and it was easily 15-20 deg cooler, rode along n back the PCH 20mi, I didn't dare go up over the ridge as its probably close to 100deg in the mater of miles.

Gdamn the Yamaha red POPS freshly washed n waxed

Well even thou the klx wanted to be a pain the bolt always runs and is good to go on a long day of riding around. So we went to a few places today! Went to blip, Wyandotte county lake rode around the lake a couple times, ran up to Leavenworth and ran into my buddy at a 7-11 haha, then went over to parkvile for a soda and a small snack and walk break, then all the way down to mochinut to try some new snacks from a Korean place. About 200 miles today just riding around!

That's what my buddy was wondering was if it's the boot since I had called him and rode it around and he thinks it's just stalling out and not getting spark. Idk when ever we get time I'll load it up and take it to his place and look it over.

Sounds like a phenomenal Sunday! Putting in the miles on that bolt hell yeah!

It's a simple bike but yeah she's getting old so it could need just a little out of the normal maintenance items.

Ya it really was! Asked the gf if she is fine with doing another long ride next weekend and got a smile with her saying "of fucking course lol" and ya big time!

And ya she is old now days... It's an 03 with at this point unknown miles since the cluster broke at 10k miles and the vapor hasn't recorded its miles in uhhh a year or so now? So zero clue how many miles on it now days. It's prob close to 15k or more with how much I use to ride it before the bolt.

Thats one hell of a keeper if shes game for another 200mi day on the back of a moto with that response! When I got my lil 2006 xt225 for the "gf bike", I ended up rebuilding the entire carb with OEM parts, cleaned the tank, new plug, new spark plug wire, new carb to head rubber boot, resealed airbox boot, fuel lines etc etc... and gosh darnit the the thing is the easiest starting, non quirky running moto out of all 3 of my motos. Most of the rubber n plastic things were OK, but there were a few key components that were slightly cracked that definitely caused running issues. Something about a proper running n tuned carbed bike... they just instantly fire up and are so crisp. I love that Lil xt225, If i dont need the space of my truck to run an errand im on that thing.

BRRUUUUUUH.... you cant tease us with lil half hidden pics.... you acting like some thirst trap OF girl with that beautiful gem of a proper UJM.

Sorry my friend. I was so tired I couldn’t even get the bike out. There is this huge tree in our front yard that blocks everything. I’ll add more pictures later.

i think so as well haha. she does have pain with her knees thou (bad knees) so we take some pain meds for her and she will usually take some about mid day to help with the pain... getting her a new seat and maybe some different passenger pegs will allow her to go for a bit longer on the bike. but even then for me (until i get a new seat as well) thats about my limit with this bike haha.

ya when i got the klx it needed a lot of work. it ran but didnt run great so i took it to my buddys place since it was december and we couldnt ride anyways and tore it down a bit. pulled the carb and got a rather pricey rebuild kit from suzuki and a jd jet kit. and put that all in. fixed all the leaks (even thou it started leaking like two months later agaaaaain it has now been fixed with hondabond and a gasket lol) all new wheel bearings at the time. some electrical issues and some other small bits.. it needed a good bit but i think i got it for 2500? so cant complain to much for a starter bike i guess. overall the klx does run great when it wants to but every now and then it just does some bs... i dont always post on it since we normally sort it out with some new part or fixing something within that weekend but this was just stupid and tbh pissed me off when i just wanted to rip around on my grandmas land for a bit and enjoy some dirt riding a little bit....

Add me to the list of people who want to see proper pictures. Looks like the same color as my 1977 CB400F, Candy Antares Red. Is this going to be a restoration or a cafe job? Please tell me restoration....It looks reasonably complete from what can be seen. Below is a link to a great Honda parts vendor. He's out of the UK but actually maintains a shop stateside in PA about an hour from me.

Hi chuck , bike has been sitting outside for 2 years, needs toons of work to get it done. It is solid , minimum rust , easy to restore (to my knowledge). No cafe racer job, just complete restoration. I am not a bike mechanic, and I don't have the knowledge and tools to work on the engine. I don't think it needs engine work, but you never know until you open the can. The guy gave a box full of parts including all 4 carburetors rebuilt parts, petcock, some other stuff I don't know where they go. I am going to start degreasing/cleaning / washing it first, than oil change and some other fuel change , need to order a new 12v battery, add go from there. Thanks for the shortcut. I'll wait to get all the helps I can get from you and other bike lover folks out there.

Sunrise ride this weekend trying to get to a hidden lookout. Wasn't able to get too far down the trail due to mud, along with startling a bear that took off further down the trail that I didn't feel like meeting again if I started having issues later.

Hopefully that gas tank is solid. Those supersport tanks are tough to find and command good money.
