4 hours of video and found a few minutes almost worth posting.
Still learning the Insta 360, will be trying to edit and clip videos together next go around. Also made an extension to get the camera above the windscreen.

I agree prices are crazy, but that Nighthawk 750 in running condition is a 2000-2500 bike all day long. 4K not a chance.

been doing some reading and it seems the issues im having come from a few things and is not uncommon with the drz400s specifically.
-1. is throttle control this is just an anyone problem. im use to controlling my throttle offroad and had no issues in co the entire time i was there so its not that but listing it because why not.
1. spark plug- its not super uncommon for the drz400s to have the spark plug come loose which i have had before where it wiggled it self loose over time and had it loose spark.
2. spark plug wire- since it comes with standing the wire could have gotten in a odd location and has been pinched by the frame or tank.
3. the most likely issue is the damn kickstand... the s model has a bit softer spring but a lot of others have reported hitting the switch with their boot or when they hit a jump or hit a hard corner and need throttle the bike falls flat and its because the kick stand is wiggling about and hitting the damn kill switch.. im going to go and delete the switch for the kick stand later tonight and see if that solves my issue or not.


still going to look at the spark plug and wire as well since it could be that..

 

was before I bought a welder and taught myself. I bought the bike for $700 not running. Turns out it was the air filter. Then I proceeded to chop it. Thought i could have a local TW person weld it, but they refused. Then I sold it. Id get another one, but the pod air filters are expensive.

 

Did you mention an inline fuel filter earlier? Would be worth bypassing or replacing it after other easier steps are completed.

no the drz doesnt have a inline filter. only in the tank at the petcock and the little screen at the carb.

 

damn that sucks would have been a cool build

 

Id like to revisit again. Always on the lookout for a sub $1k running bike with title.

I like the big single cylinder Suzuki S40 as a base project

That's definitely a picture that shows age/time. It was right when i moved into my house, and had nothing. I already have to roll the AT out to have room to get the welder out

I rode 24 hours straight to Denver on my Super Tenere in April. Just wear padded shorts.

 

is that a requirement? ill have to show you my garage tonight lol. im gonna be pushing the gfs car outside to put the black coupe in the garage so when its nicer out eventually! we can pull the motor from the old shell and i can start swapping all the junk!
