Nice rant. We don’t have paid parking in my little backwater village. My last trip to Vegas, there was no place on the strip or downtown to park so I had to use a parking garage. Then walk everywhere. I didn’t pay $35k for a car so I could wear out good shoe leather

 

Ugh! Yes!

And I don't pay taxes so I can be fined more money for not having exact change for the unpredictable amount of time I'm going to be in one spot!

As summer arrives and the weather warms up, be on the lookout for some of the cold-blooded critters that call the Chihuahuan Desert home, like this Western Diamondback Rattlesnake (Crotalus atrox). Carlsbad Caverns National Park is home to 46 different species of reptiles, among them three species of rattlesnakes and 20 species of non-venomous snakes.

Rattlesnakes are generally very mild-mannered unless they feel they are in danger. Because their venom is required to properly digest their prey (and humans are not prey), they prefer to avoid expending it by biting an attacker unless absolutely necessary. If you see a rattlesnake during your visit to the park, feel free to observe it from a distance, but avoid approaching it.

Well, if you saw that article about Amazon no staff stores that you scanned in and was supposed to be smart enough to know what you picked up and put back… checked you out when you left.
Turned out, they were paying staff in third world to use the surveillance cameras to build your basket and correct anything. There was no AI at work. I always make the machines malfunction and the staff will do it for me. I tell them I’d prefer a real employee to this crap. Honestly, I’d rather an employee… I don’t work there. I heard Target gave up on theirs in most stores. The worst one is Circle K…. Like I need one in a convenience store. Coffee refill? Thinks I bought a Mug @$27.99…nope… cashier?

 

Agree wholeheartedly. I don’t need more apps. I like Apple Pay and live with PayPal and Venmo. Everybody wants your info and tracking.

 

Having kids is like living with homeless people.
“Can I have some money?”
“I need new shoes”
“I need a ride”

 

I consistently refuse to pay for parking when I go into town.. I'm usually not gonna be there long so I just park n keep an eye out and take the risk.
Fuck them.
If you want me to patronize the biznesses in your snotty town, then don't be a bitch about parking.

PS: I think it is app only payment and I refuse to put rando shit sleazy apps on my phone and enter my cc info, yada yada yada.... so when i do get caught, that is gonna be my defense. Since they don't take cash $$, they can b*te me
