adult supervision is over/rated..

and i don't recall any adult supervision growing up..
it was GTF outta the house and don't come back till its dark or i ring the cow bell [for real, my mom had a cow bell she would ring when dinner was ready]

 

I am too afraid of pedophiles when it comes my kid

 

I'll tell you this truth
I was abused a couple of times as a kid
It was NEVER a random person
EACH TIME it was someone you should be able to trust or a family/situation you should have been able to trust
[think a friend's older sibling, that kind of thing]

I am not the only one with this experience - I have met many others who tell the same story..
Never a stranger, always someone who had the guise of being trusted

It happens to most kids, sooner or later - most won't admit it to themselves, much less anyone else, till way later in life

I just don't like this irrational fear of rando pedophiles..

While that shit does exist, the risk is like being struck by lightning

The real risk to kids is people you are supposed to be able to trust
If you are busy looking for the "bad" people, you'll miss the actual threat right under your nose

I have a co/worker who does this with her daughter - the kid is like 8

Constantly afraid of random pedophiles and won't let the kid run around at the festival at work each week
It is a small event and local people we all know are present, working
The kid could easily call out and get a good response if there was an issue

But this same co/worker will bring sleazy men home to f**k
Men that creep her 18yr old daughter out to the point that girl will leave the house...
This co/worker now has an RO against one of them because he strangled her in a parking lot one day...

Mom is so "busy" looking out for the rando pedo and instilling this fear that some random person is gonna come rape you, yet ignores the very dangerous things she is doing to put the kids at actual risk

 

We need more Capital Punishment and pedophiles should be fast forwarded to the front of the line.

 

I'm not sure I agree, prison tends to 'take care' of those offenders quite nicely - and it is probably far worse than an actual death sentence....

Spend the rest of your life getting your face bounced off the pavement and [insert string of explicit/offensive things that would get me banned for saying] seems like some solid karma for screwing with kids ...
