I know the engine oil type is W0-20 but I was wondering if this will also be the case if driving on an tropical island when it's 35 degrees celcius almost everyday. Because I read that the 0 (zero) is more for the colder temperatures in the states.
Does anyone has experience with this? Just want to do things wright and extend the life of the engine as much as possible. Thanks

W0-20 is rated for 40 Celsius / 108 Fahrenheit so you're good to go. It depends more if you're driving in stop and go traffic or long distances which determines the frequency between oil changes.

If you drive it a lot each day in that heat in shorter distances each time then I'd change every 3,000 miles and not 5,000 like suggested.

Look up manuals for Australia. They tend to show higher weight oils for same engines in the US. Better yer, post this question in a relevant regional thread.

    1. It's not Friday
    2. Your truck will be reliable long after you trade it off for the next vehicle you will obsess over going 300K+ miles just like your truck will do with whatever is recommended in your manual.
    3. Oh, whatever... it's not worth my time.

I've ran between 0w-16(terrible dealer did the oil change) and 0w40 in my truck with no problems.

5w-30 in my opinion works best in the 3.5.

40wt makes the engine sluggish unless you're working it hard by towing.

The oil cooler is good on these trucks. It'll handle anything within reason. Even 0w-20 in the heat
