    Just bought a used 06 Tacoma (4wd/6speed).

On the dash, the airbag light, ABS light, and Brake light are all on consistently (no flashing or intermittently showing, it's permanent). Horn does not work and cruise control does not work (previous owner said ABS and Brake lights have been on for a long time without issues but I was unaware of the horn/cruise issues). After doing some reading on here, it seems like the most obvious issue would be a bad spiral cable, right? Is there a way I can test this before going through the procedure of replacing it?

I know it’s been a few years but I’m hoping you got that resolved and if you did would you mind telling me what the issue was (a short, bad fuses, sensors etc).

I’m having the same issue now excluding the airbag light. I rarely honk my horn but I did go to use it the other day and didn’t work. All of a sudden today the abs and since I never use the cruise control I went to check after seeing the post and confirmed the horn and cruise don’t work as well as the and light being on.

Anything from your experience in the repair would be great. Thanks.

This ended up being a combination of issues!
    If memory serves correctly:
    • Spiral cable replacement fixed horn and cruise control. I bought a cheap spiral cable replacement from rockauto and it's working great still.
    • Passenger seat occupancy sensor replacement fixed airbag system. I found a shop that had the correct diagnostic tools for Toyota airbag systems and had them replace the sensor after diagnosis.
    • On 2nd gen trucks there's a large plug tucked above the rear axle, up under the bed that carries signal wires for the rear ABS/Wheel speed sensors. One or multiple of the wires on the plug had gotten cut. I spliced a new plug in and that fixed the ABS issues.
Your mileage may vary as it looks like you have a 1st gen but hopefully this helps!

Thanks for the report, proper diagnosis is key.

For anyone else that reads this. Just because someone else has the same lights/symptoms doesn't mean it's the same problem, sure it may give you a place to check but don't take it as "hey I have the same problem, replacing those parts fixed someone else's so it should fix mine".
