Everything is on the rise because people have access to 24/7 news and actually watch and listen to that steaming pile of shit telling you that everything is on the rise.
Take care of yourself, figure out who the 3 or 4 people are in this world that you can actually trust, turn off the shit box news crap and enjoy your life.

I mean this from the bottom of my heart...
15-20 years ago I completely stopped watching the news. No alerts, no news tv...hell I very rarely read any news links that I see on TW (cause who gives a shit anyhow). And its fucking amazing. Anybody reading this should try it, it'll honestly change your life for the better.
I'm still a grumpy fucker, but I'm not grumpin about anything I heard on the news.

 

Third world countries are a different story - 100% I believe that violence is way worse there now, esp central america/mexico/etc..
Most of that is/was caused by our fucking genius 'war on drugs'

What I will say tho is that people/humans have always been chattel in 3rd world countries to one degree or another [property of your parents, property of a man, property of the local drug lord]. There are consequences to having those kinds of societal norms - it results in way more fucked up twisted violence, even against kids. It is probably hard for most Americans to comprehend that people are property and/or assets in a large part of the world.


I was more referring to how this country in particular has a fear mongering media that focuses on bad things --> makes them seem more likely to occur, when in fact there is no real increase or actual decrease.

 

I sign papers and put down a deposit tomorrow, we'll close on the acre within the next month.

I text the gal and asked if I could start cleanin up the joint (cause bored) and she gave me the , so I started. And oh momma it was out there!!!

I mowed my yard first, then mowed a lil bit over there.


Then I borrowed a neighbor's weedeater (cause I aint got one ) and cleaned up around this here malebox




Then I cleaned this shit up but didnt take a pic cause another neighbor stopped by on his side×side and we went fer a spin.


It looks much better now.

I was referring to this country too. Those rescue groups operate here in the US.

Regardless of what we believe or don't, keeping a level head has always been a good policy.

 

I mowed a couple strips too short...it aint used to having sunlight on it!! Its been mowed twice in a week and a half, thats 2 times more than its been mowed in years. Tomorrow I'm gonna pick up some limbs and finish mowing it, there's a few small trees that I need to get rid of cause they're dead and there 3 or 4 trees that look ok so I'll see if they make it. Other than that its just a giant rectangle that I get to mow.

 

And this! A healthy distance from the news does everybody good!

I check every once in a while just for big stuff, so I'll know when they crash into giant bridges in my state and we gotta take the long way round!
