One of my dogs hides under my desk. I've found that she's not so bad if I turn my fan on her with the breeze and steady background noise.

I've never had a dog that was scared of fireworks or thunder. I must be training them wrong...

You are lucky.... I've had several. Zoie freaks out if a smoke detector or the battery backup or house alarm beeps. The battery backup and alarm were beeping this morning when the power went out and she wouldn't come back in until the noise was off.

A little something every chance we get.
Dog world....our little Rex is unafraid of thunder, loud bass from passing cars, movie "boom" noises (mostly), but is a quivering mess for fireworks. He has his flak jacket, and meds, but hates every minute.

Plant world....they all got watered. Watched the greenhouse self water OK. Had a stare down with the greenhouse plants about relocating them. Plants won.

It's just plain New Orleans hot and humid here.

...that's my other dog. He even hates the beep on the microwave. If someone open the microwave door he will walk into the bedroom.

Wow - poor doggo. Thankfully Zoie isn't that bad. She's gotten much worse as she's gotten older. Thunder didn't use to bother her, but she shakes like a leaf now :-( poor baby.

He did have an episode with the smoke detector that started chirping while we were at work. He's scarred. I found him in my walk in closet buried under the clothes hanging on the lower rack.

    :(:( poor baby.

Yeah, those low battery chirps send Zoie over the edge - she wants outside and will not come in until she's sure it's stopped. Don't know what she'd do if I wasn't home.

Might want to try training. But it helps to begin with a dog that's trusting through being started already.

She's over 13 and I don't think it will help. She's been getting worse as she's gotten older.

Sucks to lose stores you used to go to.

Good morning. Yesterday was a decent day for me. I hope today is the same. Today is haircut day and off to listen to music tonight. Cooled down a little, but still hot, and no rain in the forecast.

My sons mut hates sudden noises, but she just walks away from the source. The only thing that has her shaking in terror is a car wash.
As far as coffee pots we make sure it has the pause and pour feature. Not all do. We only use it when we have company now. My wife likes tea and I like a French press, my morning full pot is done. We have one of those boiling pots now.
