 Very cool color. I was planning on getting my double cab repainted in either that same color or Copper Canyon. They wanted an extra $5k to do the engine bay, fenders off and under hood so I stuck with OG silver. Yours looks awesome with the topper though. Very 90s

Been getting hit by a few of those pest service people, the thing is they are kids that will do it themselves. Dudes are rude and don't get that what they are offering is something I can do with what Lowes/HD has on hand. Thank god for doorbell cams so we can screen these guys now.

I had a kid ring our doorbell last week and proceed to immediately jump into sales pitch the second I opened the door - don’t recall the name, but he was with an actual company roaming the neighborhood. As he was talking I just pointed to the giant “No Soliciting” sign directly under the doorbell he pressed, and closed the door. Pretty tired of rude humans wondering around lately.

I don't mind the soliciting. I'll let them do the entire sales pitch and then smile and say no.
    :D

Best one yet was the two college kids last summer rolling up in board shorts, reeking of weed and proceeding to ask for donations to send them and their class to Jamaica for a class project.
    Nice try guys. :rasta:

Replaced engine with gerbils for sustainability.
Had one show up awhile back trying to sell a security system. He started asking about when I'm home, how many people live here, and specific questions about the house. I refused to share personal details with a stranger. He kept asking for details and couldn't figure out what to do with someone unwilling to disclose information. He started promoting their smart home integrations to which I offered examples of how the companies they'd partnered with had had recent and repeated security breaches. Of course, he had no awareness of those security breaches. He asked if he could stop by the next day because it somehow didn't register that he wasn't making this sale.

I've had many think they're outsmarting the "no soliciting" sign by saying they're not selling anything, but they're just walking around putting out feelers to see who's interested in having a salesperson stop by later. Super clever, these guys... I usually let them talk until they ask me a question and then I point to the no soliciting sign. Sometimes they understand and other times they don't.

I saw where someone posted a notice declaring that by ringing the doorbell or knocking they're engaging in a legally binding contract to pay the homeowner X dollars for every minute of their time. Dunno how well that would hold up, but might make some of them think twice.

I made a giant no soliciting decal for my storm door.

NO sales, surveys, religion, blah blah. if anyone ignores it and I answer the door I just ask them if they can read and close the door lol.

it's annoying as fawk. I had a roofer over and was talking to him in the back yard and another roofing sales guy came into the yard trying to talk to me at the same time lol. I just stood there and let them figure it out

Marketplace. Found the listing and sent a message within an hour or so of posting. From talking to the seller, it sounded like there was a long line of interested people behind me, even with the listing only up for less than a day.

Sometimes, compulsive CL/marketplace scrolling pays off...

I got that visit last week. Told him the wifey was sensitive to chemicals. Response: "Our treatments are the most environmentally friendly." I'm not married to the planet, kid. Although she IS my world.... (ha!)

But let me get to the real reason for this post. I'm f'in done! No more trying to schedule oil changes at the dealer or anywhere else. Pedersen is one month out, their online scheduling system doesn't work, and now when you call you get an AI chatbot that eventually hangs up on you. Those maintenance plans they sell are worthless, because you just can't get in to see them! Called a few local lube places, and nobody answers the phone. I'm done. Gonna learn how to change the oil myself.

I'll do a search here for instructions on how to do it, but if you have a link or any other advice, I'd much appreciate it. I know there's some aftermarket plug replacement that makes life easier. Also, is it possible to get rid of old oil for free or cheap? I'm in Fort Collins. And, yes, I tried the Cheyenne dealer, and they don't answer the phone.

Also, what's good synthetic oil to use? I'm rocking a 2023 TRD OR. Thanks for any help and commiseration y'all might have.

There is a drive thru place on North College that had changed names a few times but I have been going there for over 20 years for fleet vehicles. I do my own on the truck. You never leave the vehicle, they show you the air filter and the oil dip stick after it's full. They do the air in the tires and check a few other things. Give them a try.

Don’t drain your transmission and put in double the amount of oil into the engine.
