We moved here with Subaru, Honda and VW in the fleet and live semi-rural. Neighbors didn't have much to say to me until I drug home an old F-250 to tinker on and flip. I sold it last year when I was done with it and got my '22..been pretty quiet since then. Could be coincidence, but I never even got a thank you when dropping off pans of BBQ to try and break the ice, so then again, maybe not.

For one of the largest ticket items my family owns, I think I will buy from a company that has made like 2-3 noteworthy vehicles in the past 20 years. I think it would have to be significantly cheaper than the lexus and I don't feel like I would be really excited about it.

I don’t know if many of you realize this but Buick is manufacturing cars in China for the US market.
I had a 2023 Envision in my shop, manufactured in China.

Huh, I had no clue. I was wondering when a Chinese made car was going to finally hit the US, I guess I shouldn't be surprised it's from a domestic outsourcer...although now that I say that, isn't ole Musky dragging them over from there too?

If it hadn’t been for the VIN prefix I would have never known. I had never seen a VIN start with an “L” so I looked closer and it was manufactured in china. It seemed to be put together nicely, nice paint job too.

China can put out some wonderful quality stuff..when they want to. I wouldn't be surprised to see stuff slip some after a honeymoon period however. I work the domestic side of a company that works with foreign suppliers as well, it sounds like a lot of work keeping them working to standard. They actually punted the last one from China a year or two ago, all Taiwan and German partners now (I won't get in to the near worthlessness of a "Made in Germany" tag but..).

Lots of Buicks around here. Seem to be the blue-hair weapon of choice. That or Kias.
