Yes...I know OEM headlights are the best. Right now if I could get them I would. I can't right now, so on my brand new aftermarket headlights, that have yet to be installed, is it worth it to spray the lenses with acrylic lacquer clear coat to help extend the amount of time I have before they eventually yellow from the suns UV rays?

Do you have a UV wax you would recommend?

I have a Sienna with factory HID. No aftermarket replacements. Toyota @ $700 APIECE!

I wet sanded and had them shot with automotive clear coat. (While some other work was being done).

Going on a year. Still like brand new

Amazing what bad lights and wheels can do to a caŕ.

polish with 1000 grit compound (brand doesn't matter)
then I wax with meguars cleaner wax

    seems to last 4-6 months.

i am still dong this to my 04 camry original headlights. they are still a little bit yellow, but bead water and much clearer than not doing this.

i put these on my 05 taco and they still look good, no leaks. i would have kept waxing them, but one cracked from a tree branch or something.

No , do not put acrylic lacquer on your headlights. It is UV rays that make the headlight lens foggy and hazy. Lacquer will do nothing to stop that. You want a UV protectant. I have used Meguiars headlight coating for several years. Apply it twice a year. My headlights remain completely clear. It’s easy to use, takes about 5 minutes. Easy peasy.

Funny, I just ordered a can of this stuff right before seeing your post. Meguires has always seemed to make pretty good stuff and this is exactly what I'm looking for. Something to keep a new set of headlights looking new.
