My KMC’s were allegedly on a “long back order” as well. That long back order ended up being like 5 weeks in the peak of the plandemic.

Haha I know, i was lookin' at those. I'm running the JD spec 3x14 piggyback freebleeds right now and I figure there's a 50/50 chance he calls me an idiot for being averse to clicking. ;)

What width spacer are you using, wheel size, offset and tire size are you using? If you end up selling the King's let me know.

    17x8.5 +0 (4.75" bs) with a 1.25" spacer on 35x12.5x17s. I probably won't ditch the King's but I'll let you know if I do.

I knew wheel spacers would be needed even to do the 2.5 but didn't know if more would be needed for the 3.0. My wheels are the same size but I am running 285/75/17's. Don't plan to change that unless I find a 35x11.5 I want. Thanks

I previously ran the archive garage SOA shock relocation with a 2.5 on 16x8 -12 (4.03" bs) and needed the 1.25" spacers so I already had them when I switched to a more offset wheel and the 3.0s. I don't strictly know if you could get away with less than 1.25".

I'm actually 3d printing some spacers for the front to test some different backspacing right now because I'm rubbing on my shock bypass tubes. Can't drive on'em, obviously, but great for test fitting clearance.

Yeah, I ran air hoses to all 4 wheels and mounted chucks at each wheel. I just have 4 short lengths I use to go from the wheel to the chuck so I can air all 4 up at once. It's not really any quicker (it's still the same amount of air) but I can crack a beer while I wait instead of walking around to all four tires slowly. It's also handy to have air available at each tire for when I'm airing up paddle boards etc and don't need to get access to the compressor. I'm also slightly anal and by having all 4 tires aired up at once, the pressure is always equal in every tire since you're basically just inflating one giant tire.

10/10 can confirm. They are a bitch to tune. Issue I’m having is the valving to make them work good, makes for an extremely firm bump zone. Currently trying to find a “work around” as I really don’t feel like buying yet another set of shocks.

Something like this would probably work insanely well. Especially to keep using the shocks I have. Could get a pretty big gain in the motion ratio department which would help tremendously with my bump zone issues.

The way the JD shock position is, motion ratio changes immensely through the range of motion. I wish I had measured angles at bump/droop.

So many questions…that set up has multiple potential pitfalls

    1. The more vertical the shock is the closer you are to a 1:1 ratio so ie: you would need a 20” shock

    2. track bars and leaf springs don’t play well in the same sandbox, the track bar better have a shackle at the front and the length / shackle combo better allow the trac bar to move in the same parabolic radius as the leaf springs or you’ll send u-joints and leafs over the rainbow bridge

edit - it’s not just the parabolic radius but also the axle roll through that radius

    3. Why …just why with all of that work wouldn’t you just go to links ?

I had asked him about it, and to answer number three - this is his spare parts / grocery getter. He’s got another linked yota.

every single after market leaf spring shock tower does the same thing but the benefits outweigh what you are describing

Phil is good. Did the initial tune on my buddies 4800 car to give me a huge head start on tuning. What he did in a weekend would have taken me a month. Car was basically undriveable before he got it. Then as our driver got comfortable and I’ve been able to maintain and tweak as he gets faster and faster.
