So yesterday I went to the dealership and they had a white sr5 4x4 double cab short bed base model, only thing the truck has is all weather floor liners, bed cleats, and heated seats. Msrp is $42700. The manager was more interested in selling the truck to me than I was into buying it lol. Said it’s the end of the month and they have to move trucks off the lot. Offered me $4k off msrp and said he could do better if I’m actually interested . They wanna give me $34.5k for my 2023 sr5 4x4 with 6k miles. He said he could do better also on the trade if I’m serious about doing it. These were the figures I was given as starting numbers to get me to buy the truck. What would you guys do? I think I’m just over 3rd gen ownership and ready to move on into something different

I would wait until they work the bugs out with these trucks. There is a reason they are offering 4k plus off on a new truck.

Your 3rd gen will hold good value for a while. Wait it out a bit.

Why ? U have a truck with only 6k miles u want to trade it for the same exact truck and pay more money for it ? If u were upgrading to a higher model that would make more sense . It’s your money do what u want . Almost sounds like u don’t even want a truck trading with only 6k miles is bonkers .

As someone who owns both, if you are looking to move on, get the 4th gen and don’t look back

My last truck was an 18 Pro. I have the base offroad manual in Canada now and I think its a much better drive. Can't speak on reliability yet but so far I like this truck much better

Your truck you have now is still pretty new, if it's a nice to have then i'd wait. Maybe even for a model refresh for the 2026 models... you know they will change some of the options around or even make some options standard like they did on the 3rd gen after two years.

I went to buy a Trd off road 3rd gen with 36k miles for 35k and left with a 4th sr5 4x4 longbed Crewcab for 38k.

difference was night and day. No competition.

This is what happened to the 3rd gen tundra forums. Owners of prior years showed up and trash every thread.

Interest rates are crazy now. I only borrowed 15k on mine. I have only had the truck for 2 months and have it down to 12,500. I want to get it paid off asap

If I'd have had your complaint level I'd have kicked Toyota out of my garage after the 2nd go around.

@Gfenza89 Since you are fed up with the 3rd gen go for it if you have thoroughly test drove a 4th gen. You only live once. Be happy.
