Putting the loop on it is smart. I didn’t put anything like that on mine and getting it back out of the diff was…interesting

I should have had some made with the CV's that came on my truck.
I wonder how the hoop is going to effect ballance but I can definitely see where it comes in handy

Pretty small mass right in the center so I can't imagine it would make a big imbalance, but who knows.

At that point the little imbalance isn't really an issue

Yeah you'd probably have 4wd off anyways so it shouldn't spin much or at all depending on which side it's on.

I mean I like the loop. But you can just use a prybar on the two lips to pop it out. Thats how I remove the CV anyways.

If you cut the CV cup too close to the seal/shaft interface, there won’t be enough material to pry on and it will be a total shitshow :anonymous:

    What gave it away?

Luckily it was in my garage, I just had to weld some shit on there in place to hook a chain strap to it. Thought I was going to pull the fucker off the jackstands trying to get it out.

The few times I've pulled CVs, it seems like there's a magic orientation where it pops out easily. If it's putting up a fight, turn it a few degrees and try again. Repeat until it comes out.

Agreed. It might have to do with the orientation of the retaining clip, for instance on install, by setting the snap ring with the opening facing down.

Pretty straight forward. Make sure to have all 7 clips on hand and couldn't hurt to have a few extra just in space you lose one. One popped off and came to rest in the belly pan, of which I just left there.

Denso spark plugs and NGK wires went in. Been having a nasty misfire lately so crossing my fingers this’ll fix it. Drove around town for a while and so far so good. Annoying being a DIYer in an apartment complex.

sending you good vibes that all Fixes the issues you have been having :fingerscrossed:
?? Annoying because the neighbors want to know if you do a side hustle and can maintenance/fix their vehicles? LOL
once the UPS guy deliver some new TekTon tools while doing something or other deep underneath the truck in the driveway and he wanted to know if i did a side hustle on his Tundra that was having electrical issues LOL with the battery often drained after his UPS delivery shift
