From what I understand the 3rd Gen TRD PRO FOX shocks can be swapped in on any other Tacoma with little hassle. I'm wondering if I need to do much if I wanted to swap some newer 2023 shocks on my 2017 AC SR.

The guy I'm buying them from has the shocks for a good price and only ran them for 10k before taking them off. I'd assume they're from a new 2023 truck due to the low milage, but did they really change that much compared to the 'older' TRD PROs. He also has some Wescott Leveling pucks thrown on them aswell.

Buying a set of used shocks with 10,000 miles on them is like buying a used condom.

I’ve said this in another thread but the only reason I could justify buying used shocks is if I got them for a bargain and I needed them to rebuild another set of shocks or if the seller could prove to me that they were taken off with extremely low mileage to install a new lift, essentially roll it straight from the dealer lot into the lift shop.

Yall make some valid points but I believe the guy is pretty legit as he's active on a few Tacoma FB groups and the shocks don't look half bad. Plus they're at a fair price so

IMHO I think buying used shocks is just fine. Just look at all of the used shocks sold on this forum. The nice things about the Pro shocks is that they can be rebuild as well. I would have no issue buying and running them. My understanding is that they are a direct swap and will provide a small lift. No other work except an alignment is needed. Enjoy the new shocks!

You'll be fine, might need to add a block to the rear. Biggest question is, how much are they?
