Finally got out in the woods. Just couldn't set the hook quick enough to land anything oh well. Yaak River. Webb Mtn Lookout. Reba supervising my fishing, says I'm breaking my wrist too much and need to practice more.

I offered to teach you the nymphs!!

 

They must be tied properly flung in the correct spot drifted with the flow so they look natural. And picked by weight so your point bounces along the bottom but not so heavy you hang up. Simple as that!

The Yaak isn't on any must fish list. You have to wanna be there. I saw 4 other people fishing. ALL at the same spot I was AFTER I got there. Only had maybe 100 yards if you didn't have waders. I of course left mine hanging in the garage, DOH!. I left and had it all to myself further upstream at 3 other spots.

 

I’ve caught fish using bead headed nymphs , recommend by the fly shop. Just kinda bounce them off the bottom in shallow water, mid depth in deeper water. Sometimes they worked, sometimes they didn’t. But I always have fun trying

 

None here. At least not in the valley. Maybe higher elevations. Wet weather coming thru for next few days.
