Anyone use “Rust Check” instead of Krown for rustproofing their Tacoma?

I posted this in general Tacoma talk but didn’t get any replies, hoping my 3rd gen bros can help me out. Anyways I’m finally biting the bullet and getting my Tacoma “rust proofed” after trying to keep the undercarriage clean and patch up rust as it started. Trucks only a year old with lots of mileage but still basically rust free and it’s too time consuming to do anymore. I know a lot of guys here love “Krown” grease spray for under the truck and in all the cavities but has anyone ever used “Rust Check”?? It’s also a Canadian company, good reviews, similar to Krown and has an applicator in my closest city who is very well reviewed. He’ll go over the entire truck, find any tiny rust spots (there’s not many) sand, rust inhibitor, apply primer and frame paint, then spray the truck with this mineral oil everywhere. So, anyone use this “Rust Check” brand instead of Krown and have things to say about it? Thanks!

Fluid film, woolwax, krown, etc. There's a lot out there and I've personally heard fluid film and woolwax more than any other brand

Yes that’s what I’ve come up with searching, except there’s no really reputable applicators anywhere near me except a guy that does “Rust Check” brand since like the 80’s with tons of 5 star reviews and recommendations. So I’m asking if anyone here has used “Rust Check” and if it’s any good as others.

I’m astonished at how well wool wax has held up. I like it because I can see what’s going on beneath it, it doesn’t just wash off either.
Time will tell if it works at keeping my frame from rotting

I have used the green Rust Check spray cans for hinges and rusty spot touch ups (before paint touch up) for years with really good results. I also found a company in Hamilton Ontario that carries a product which seems to be very much like cosmoline. Commercial Oil-they are a distributor, not an applicator, the product is called Lubriko Rust Preventative #1. I used it on the undercarriage and now it is mid way through the second winter and I have absolutely no rust anywhere. I also spray winter lug nuts (after install) and the shaft ends on our other front wheel drive cars. I like Krown, but have had issues with their product causing rubber door seals to swell.

I used RustCheck and Krown for years. They’re very similar and work equally well IMO. The only downside I noticed was that they both easily wash off any areas exposed to the winter elements (here in Ontario Canada anyway)
After I tried FluidFilm though, I never used RustCheck or Krown again. FF doesn’t seem to creep as much as RC or Krown, but it doesn’t get washed off as easily so that’s why I switched.

If you live in an area with harsh winters, I’d recommend finding, and making at least one trip to a shop that applies Fluid Film (or Woolwax). If you just have mild winters, RustCheck or Krown should be fine.....

Any fluid coating is better than nothing
Krown has it’s benefits, fluid film has its benefits, used motor oil and diesel has its benefits

    Just get it on

Undercoating arguements ar just like oil, or batteries.
Im not a rust check customer, except the odd spray can, but many friends aere, and theyve had good results on long term vehicles.
Whatever you do, get it resprayed at least annually. I prefer a spring/early summer spray, that way it has time to soak and creep in the heat into all the seams. Then go back over it in the fall where it may have washed off (frame in rear wheel well area is the worst spot ive found.)

Spray it with a non-rubberized coating, and enjoy your life.

Putting my 2 cent opinion in here for Corrosion Free. Depending where you live there may or may not be dealers but if you can find one it’s good stuff. I paid $200 to have mine done. A few of the perks that sold me
    • clear, dripless and environmentally friendly
    • applied inside the rocker/body panels as well as sides of the engine bay.
    • applied with some air to displace water and dust
    • warrantied if applied within 3 model years of new.

It works like a type of lubricant. Included in the warranty is any rubber components underneath as well as brake lines and such. Look it up sometime‍♂️

They may all be good, but my 11 year old CRV still looked great (body & frame) when it was written off in an accident. Due to it's condition I asked and received more money from the Insurance company, txs to Krown rustproofing. Not to mention my now 8 year old Taco still looks fantastic. Here in Ottawa, Canada we get tons of salt put down due to all the snow storms we get.

    I'm a believer.....

Yep have used both Rust check and Krown for many years. Both work equally well if applied yearly. Which I went to was always just dependant on location of shop and reviews of their workmanship.

Krown and Rust Check are most popular and they are both equal for protection. Here in Canada.

I did crown for the first 2 winters with the truck and switched to FF this fall as Krown in my town moved. Seems to be just as good.

So long as you are applying something to combat salt and rust I think you are in good shape.
