My AC turns off every few minutes and I have to keep hitting the AC button for it to turn back on. It’s been doing this for about 2 years. Sometimes it runs for a longer time than others. If I’m driving faster without stops, it stays on longer. Anyone with these issues?

When it shuts off, does 'fog' come out of the center vents by any chance?

Does it stay on longer if you run it on outside air instead of recirculate?

Does the A/C light start flashing when this happens or does the A/C light stay on and it quits cooling?

My 2013 is doing the same. I turn the AC on and it cools great but after a minute or two the the light starts blinking and it stops cooling. I push the button to turn it off for a minute or so and turn it back on it will start cooling again. Went thru that cycle today for 3 times before it kept cooling continuously. What's up with that? compressor?

Would take some testing to find out the cause but one quick test you could do is to swap the MG CLT Relay for a known good one, if that's not it then you have to test when the problem is occurring.

What I would likely do if one of these came into the shop with your complaint is put a test light on the power wire to the A/C clutch and put an oscilloscope on the Lock Sensor wire and see what I lose when the problem occurs.
If I kept power but the clutch kicks out then I have a bad clutch, if the clutch stays engaged but I lose the Lock Sensor signal then I probably have a bad lock sensor.

I think it works the same using both ways. No fog. It seems to cut off more when I’m just parked and idling.

This did the trick for me. Simple swap out and relatively cheap.
