Here is the little project Subaru all washed up and ready for Mrs Green.

Surely not a king of shine  @Delta09 quality job but pretty decent for me.

I used lazy mans spray wax .;)

I have put just under 700 miles on it since Tuesday.

:fingerscrossed:, when you have a 480v, 220v, 24v and 12v combination on one bus, it takes lots of caution and time on the work for sure.

So, not a DIY week for me. @RustyGreen , please have mercy….
Tuesday evening I noticed my truck sounding different. Crawl underneath to see if my exhaust system was about to drop. Got distracted by my transmission pan being coated with small drops forming
I checked my oil, coolant and ps fluid. Couldn’t find the nonexistent trans dipstick, sampled the fliud with a shop towel and determined it was in fact transmission fluid.
Figured the dealership (25 miles away) was my best bet but they were closed. Rationale being this truck is my daily and I’m too cheap to get a rental. Called Wednesday morning and couldn’t believe I got a 1:00 appointment that afternoon. Long story short, the lines were corroded. 2 sets of them, one pair hidden under my skid plate.
    They had them in stock!
They quoted me $4,000 on the exhaust work (cats and pipes) because that’s what dealers do for exhaust work..
“It’s a rusted flange, any exhaust shop should be able to fix you right up,” said the tech. I agreed..
I was out of there by 4:30. New lines, fluid temp checked, drill out rusted pan bolt = 630. They were doing a fund raiser for gold star and disabled vet families so I said to round it up to $700 thinking of what I would’ve gone through trying to do it myself.
The tech also said the exhaust system was otherwise secure and that I could go to CA and back on it.
Since services are severely lacking Above the Notches and that I already had plans to head to MA for a family gig, I called a Meineke I had gone to years ago. I got an 8:30 appointment for this morning.
So, up at 4:00 this morning and out the door by 5:00.
Both the desk guy and tech seem bright and chipper, no signs of hangovers :D
I hate exhaust work and my welding skills are nonexistent.
    I’ll keep you posted.

Good Morning and welcome to the weekend everyone :hattip:

This one hurt….$150 for two cuts and a filler pipe. :anonymous:

But it’s done, truck sounds good. No more rattling from the partially detached flange.

An expensive week for my 10 year old truck but it’s the only $$ I’ve paid out to others since owning it.

Good catch on the fluid leak - that could have gone bad in an $$$ way.
Also, really not a bad price for OEM parts and same day repair, call it a win.

Can I get some deets on the raised bed containers? My present beds are ready for replacement.

    Thanks

    I hate thieves.
Especially someone low enough to steal from a small business. :laser::bananadead:

Perhaps a local vending company could provide you with a suitable machine?
