I had a collision on the highway which caused a fair bit of damage to the bumper and some other frame damages. I'm dealing with some major BS from my insurance company so I need to do this repair on a budget myself and some of it quick since there's a minor scraping on the inside of that wheel well.

I was looking at options, I've seen a large number of varieties of desert bumpers and other high clearance bumpers which can also go on. I had dropped it off with a mechanic in prep for insurance repair when all this insurance bs happened and they'd said the damage to the car wasn't too bad.

I'm curious if installing one of those means there might be less bending work to do on the truck if I went with an something like a desert bumper, and it might be about wash if I do the installation myself (after getting the bumper and making sure it fits/getting the bare minimum amount of bodywork to make sure it fits). If I can find something like a desert bumper with full tubing then that can provide a large degree of defense in the unlikely (knock wood) chance I have any similar accidents again.

Overall the frame of the car didn't seem to damaged though that solid steel bumper sticking out behind the valence might need a bit of tweaking as well (droops about an inch lower than the driver side), I need to straighten out the passenger side panel, and a bit of bending to make the hood open. So there is some mandatory bodywork I will need to do in this whole process.

Would a low clearance bumber be a smart way to cut out alot of other potential bodywork expenses that might be needed for a full bumper to fit on the car (not sure how much those cost) and potentially be a small offset if I can find something like a desert bumper secondhand?

Is there anybody selling partial or full tubing bumpers they opted not to install/switched off interested in talking more?

Passenger door is completely functional, its very much localized to the front of that panel, the hood, and the bumper/valence with some cracking on turn light mounting clip, and 2 cracks on the chrome wrapping around the grill.

    R fender is toast
Thinking R radiator core baffle bc pushed back, likely R apron has a fold
Is one of your legs/mounts of your air box cracked?

Atm hard to assess internal damage since the hood is slightly warped and won't open. There is a semi-flexible cover at the front of the wheel which just barely scrapes the inner tread of the tire if driving on bumpy roads or turning with speed. I've actually been having a bit of a hard time figuring out if there could be components behind that cover or if it would be safe to remove it since there isn't a matching one on the driver side wheel

Actually, from tht one pix….hood looks good
That hood gap you speak of is bc inr structure pushed back 1-2 inches on R side
Appears L side hood to grille gaps good; proves the statement

    More pix will help
what does your air box look like?

I could only peek a bit into the aitbox but I think its fine, there's another part though that is way too close, its like a white box with a black smei rigid shield. Maybe the windshield wiper flluid reservoir?

Yea, in a bit I'm going to test the disengage mechanism on the latch itself. I suspect it's just a bit tweaked, bit worried it might not quite close easily when I do that though. Doesn't open with the button.

This is the wiper reservoir i mentioned, this was taken day of and its worn a bit more through it

I saw a mod to put a Kia's wiper box in the hood I'm thinking of but I think I need to drill a hole in the latch to get it to open like https://youtu.be/WOzUAfmDi6o unless there is an easier way
